Please tell me we're not horrible parents!
Ava is sleeping over with my mom tonight so JT and I could have some "us" time since we never see each other, but we feel so guilty that it's eating us up I cried when my mom took her, but I know we need the time together. Please remind me this is a good thing!

It IS a good thing. Your relationship with DH is just as important as the one with DD.
's - Try not to feel so guilty, and enjoy the fews hours you have with DH alone.

This is definitely a good thing, and not just for you and Dh but for Ava too! She gets a little time off from her parents as well and some quality time with her grandma.
Enjoy your time with your husband, you guys deserve it!

It's a good thing! I keep saying DH and I are going to go away overnight but I can never muster up the guts to do it. You know she's in great hands so just enjoy your night with JT.

Re: Please tell me we're not horrible parents!
Enjoy Enjoy Enjoy
For christmas DH got me tickets to see the Grinch on broadway. My MIL watched Matthew. The show was only 70 minutes but what a glorious 70 minutes it was. Not that I didn't miss my Matty Pie but I really enjoyed the show. I knew DS was in good hands. We made a big deal out of the night and bought some souvenirs at the show which we normally don't do and of course I had to get DS something but I really didn't see anything but then I saw a bib. The price was ridiculous but I felt bad cuz DH bought a t-shirt for us to share and one for MIL cuz she watched DS and I felt bad coming home with nothing for my munchkin. So we got it for him. This was the first time we've gone out without the baby and he was 6 1/2 months when we went to see the play.
The payoff is when you come home and you see them smile and light up at the sight of you. I almost melted when I called DS and he turned around and gave us the biggest smile ever. I always call him coolie(Cuz I always lightly smack his tooshie when I change his diaper) So when I walked in I screamed "coolie" he turned around and gave me the biggest smile. MIL said that DS was an angel for Grandma.

Re: Please tell me we're not horrible parents!
DO NOT feel guilty. You are wonderful parents and are entitled to have time as husband and wife without baby. I have Roman sleep over my MIL at least once a month so DH and I can do whatever we want to without time constraints.
Enjoy it.

Re: Please tell me we're not horrible parents!
Do NOT feel guilty. Just because you are a mom, it does not mean you are not a person anymore. You can still have fun and you need to still have a relationship with your dh. When we won the cruise I didn't have to think twice. I was ready to go the next day-lol!!

It's definitely a good thing to reconnect with JT. In my opinion one of the best gift you could give Ava are parents who recognize the need to have "us" time & remember how important they are to each other.
Enjoy!

I am married 12 years and I can absolutely promise you IT IS A GOOD THING. Think of it as a deposit into your "marital bank account" that will pay dividends for the future. If you have help that you trust, you should take advantage of it whenever possible.
Enjoy your night with your husband.

Definitely a good thing! Don't feel bad! Although I feel your pain, we're going away on Monday for 3 nights and I was crying today about it. Ugh. See, don't feel bad!

Re: Please tell me we're not horrible parents!
OMG! Definitely enjoy yourself!!!!!!!!! There was one night that DH and I were supposed to go see a concert and the baby was acting up just a little and DH was like "uh I think we need to stay home!" My mother was adamant that we go because we need time just to ourselves. It was the best night. We had a great time and came home relaxed and rejuvenated!!!
Go and have a great time!!!!!!!!!!
