point and shoot camera recs
Since there are so many mommies on here who take great pics, hope someone can help. I need recs for a inexpensive- under $200- point and shoot. the main thing i am looking for is minimal shutter lag. the shutter lag on my camera is driving me crazy. I know for hte best one, i need ot get a SLR. We will be gettign a Nikon D40 when #2 comes later this year - but still want to get a new point and shoot, figure there will be times when i want a portable small camera anyhow. any recs?

Re: point and shoot camera recs
I'm not sure about the quality of the pics yet, but for Christmas, DH got me a Panasonic Lumix FS5. The quality on the display screen looks pretty good. It is 10.1 megapixels with an image stabilizer, a 4x optical zoom and a 30mm wide angle lens. I think it was right around $200. I think the shutter lag is about the same as my Canon Powershot or maybe a BIT less. The advantage to it for me is that it is alot more portable than the Powershot. I would love an SLR but I don't dare ask DH for one after I got the Powershot last year and this one now.

Re: point and shoot camera recs
I have an SLR but got the canon ELPH for everyday out and about type use for xmas. It rocks! I though the shutter lag would bug me after being used to the SLR, but it is SOOOO much better than any other digital Ive had.
We decided on that over the Nikon coolpix becuase of the online reviews.

Re: point and shoot camera recs
i just got an amazing camera (recommended by 3 people) its the cannon powershot SD 1100 IS i got mine for $239 but it was WITH the photo printer so im sure if you just got the camera it would be $200 or less. check target.com i know they have it there (i purchased mine at newegg.com)this camera is VERY easy to use, a great point and shoot camera, the reason why i purchased it. i originally had the new nikon coolpix touchscreen camera but it was terrible and i returned it. Im EXTREMELY happy with my cannon! (and it comes in diffrent colors too) hope this helps!
