Please recommend your point and shoot camera
I want to get a new one that is easier to carry around than my DSLR. The little nikon coolpix I have now is getting slower and not processing very quickly anymore and I am getting frustrated with it.
I'm considering the Nikon S550, but am open to others, and would definitely love feedback from anyone that has the S550.
TIA!

Re: Please recommend your point and shoot camera
i've had 2 cannon's and really liked them. i forget the model numbers, but they are both in the Elph family. DH also has a cannon SLR that hes been happy with, too. we got the Elph for the sameexact reason- the SLR is just too big to carry around certain places.
ETA: just found the model number.. its the ELph SD 870 with IS ( image stabilization)

I have a Pentax Optio (not sure of the model # off hand) and I love it. It's perfect for when I don't want to carry around my SLR and it takes great pics. You should check them out.

I have the same camera and I don't think it takes great pictures. But, it could be that I'm doing something wrong...

I also have an Olympus stylus and it's horrible. I would never recommend it. Takes VERY dark pictures. Just horrible.

Re: Please recommend your point and shoot camera
Im in the market for one. Did a little research and Im liking the CANON SD 1100is (one I want, there is others).
So far, the images taken by these seem good and of good quality and provide some nice features.
Keep in mind, most cameras will work better with the proper settings, so read manuals.
