We buy. I want a new car, my car is 7 years old and has about 110,000 miles on it. I'd hand down my car to him (his car is the same age, same mileage) and I'd take the new car. DH tells me that I drive too much to buy a new car. So, I'm thinking what, I'd get a new car if I didnt drive? Yeah, that makes perfect sense..

we buy, we drive too many miles & would always go over on a lease. Even with DH's business, there are advatages to borrowing the money to buy the vehicle instead of leasing it. To me a lease is a long term rental.
I grew up in the car business & have had so many cars in my life, they just don't turn me on. Great gas mileage, no payment & driving it till it dies turns me on.
The car I have now has 130,000 miles
DH's truck has 145,000 miles

i selected buy, but my car is financed through my credit union. super low payments, way less then what it would cost to lease.

My car is leased. It is my first new car. I plan on leasing again. I put down very little, my payments are more than manageable and I don't want to own a depreciating asset.
DH is still driving the car he had in college - and plans to buy something else in the next few months.

Dh has a car that he bought before we met that he uses as a station car
Our other car is leased...
In fact, our lease is up next month and we are in the process of negotiating another lease

buy - i personally think leasing is a waste of money. but i tend to keep cars for longer than 5 years!

I just finished my lease and now I'm buying my car because it has such low mileage and is in excellent condition (it's an 04). I don't think I would ever lease again. If I could do it again I would negotiate the price of a car with many dealerships and then find the lowest financing possible - most likely a credit union. I don't want to have a car payment forever.

Always buy. Leasing a car is a long term car rental with a payment that never ends. I was thrilled when my loan was done - it saves a lot of $$$. I like having something that is mine.

Well mine is leased and I wish we hadn't done that. DH's is almost paid off and it would have been nice if I knew that in 2 years mine would be too. I am hoping to trade mine back in next year and buy something we can afford and pay off quickly(within a few years) then DH can get a new one so that we will only have one car payment at a time.

We lease..same reasoning..I would rather put my money into owning something that appreciates. We get into a new car every 3 years with no money down and a low payment for an excellent brand new vehicle. Also the likelihood of a breakdown after the car is 3-4 years goes up. It's my peace of mind to have a new car every few years.
