Poll: Honda Accord v. Hyundai Sonata?
Spin off from earlier Honda v. Hyundai thread except this one is narrowed down to 2 specific models and vehicles.
Trying to decide between the 2012 Accord or the Sonata.
The Accord would be the EX model - 4 cyl/4 door sedan w. limited Options (satellite radio).
The Sonata would be the Limited model. (4 cyl/4 dr sedan).
It will not be a Lease - either cash purchase of finance (paying off the loan w/in a year thrugh my credit union). I plan to drive this car for at least another 6-8 years.
Any suggestions welcome - positive, negative or neutral!

Both are good cars, but the Honda will be worth more in the end.

we have the new sonata, i lOVE it!!! it drives like a dream, is fully loaded and is so much fun to drive! i also have the new santa fe which is awesome too! so i vote sonata all the way. my brother has an accord and has nothing but problems with it. and you just can't beat hyundai's warranty too! it's the best one out there i think.

I would go with the Sonata. Longer warranty, IMO it looks nicer and they are great cars. You get more bang for your buck.

I have a 2011 Honda Accord and have no problems at all with it. It runs great!
I really like the Sonata, and I have heard great things about it.
I don't think you could go wrong with either car.

Really - wow that is surprising to hear...What kind of problems did he have? is it a newer model/year Accord or one with, like, 100K+ miles on it? You can FM me if you want to keep it private.

I would go with Sonata, we had one and it was one of the best cars we have ever had. everyone who has it is happy, I only know one [person who has a Honda Accord, my DD's godmother's DH, he just got it 8 months ago and already had to bring it in twice for different issues they were having. He says he'll never get Honda again. His wife has Elantra, 2010 and they have never had any problems with it.

I have a 2008 - the year they came out with the new design. I've had a few problems with it, such as brake pads wearing down too quickly, computer being misprogrammed, etc. But service always takes care of it free of charge.
They have since resolved those issues in newer models 2009+
I would still buy a Honda over a Hyundai.

We have a 2011 Sonata and I really wish I had gotten another one when my car lease was up. I looked at Accords and IMO the Sonota is a much better ride and looks a lot nicer. We had to take it in for a recall once and Hyundai gave us a $25 gift card and cookies just for the hassle. I had to take my Acura in for same and got an attitude
