Poll: Ideal age Gap between Babies

OK I'm a regular poster thinking about TTCing, but don't want you guys to guess who!!!

What do you think the ideal age gap is?

I think it totally depends on the people involved....and there's really no "ideal" gap.

Very personal decision - personally, I want my children close (they will be about 19 months apart). Ideally for me, the 19-24 month range.

this is a very personal preference. DH and I think 2-3 years is perfect for us (we are both 2-3 yrs apart from our siblings).

I think it depends on a lot of things. Do you work? If so, can you afford two in daycare? If not, a 5 year gap might be more ideal.

Mine are 2.5 years apart almost to the day (on accident my boys are 5 years and one week exactly) I never had 2 in diapers and day care wasn't an issue.

I wouldn't have it any other way, but I'm a little weird so...

I said 3-4 years. If all goes well, we plan to TTC when DD is between 2-3 years old.

Abby is 7 and a half months old. I hope to be starting before the end of the year and I am hoping that our process will be easier this time around as we conceive through IUI. We are both in our late 30s and age is the only reason. If all goes well, we will be in the 2 under 2 club.

We are aiming for 2-3 years. We were originally considering 2 under 2, but I chickened out.

It's a very personal decision.....but IDEALLY for us I would love 2 under 2,then wait 2-3 years & have another...........but circumstances are not that way right now.

We wanted 2-3 years apart but God had other plans and it was not in the cards for us. My girls are 7 1/2 years apart, but I feel lucky that I was able to even have another one.
One thing this taught me was that you just can not plan everything.

My girls are 14 months apart. I love having them so close!

I'm more of the why wait mentality. If it was up to me we'd already be TTC but because I had a c/s I'm waiting a bit longer, but definitely will be trying again before the end of the year. If it works out the way we'd like, our first two will be less than 24 months apart (more like 18-20 if all goes well).

My brother and I are just under two years apart and are very close. My sister, however, is 3.5 years older than me and we are less close, although it's gotten better as we get older. My brother and sister are just over 5 years apart and are not that close. From my personal experience, closer is better (just in my case not in everyone's!)

It's totally personal. For us it was 3-4 years. I needed DD to be in preschool before having another at home FT.

I think it is a very personal decision & everyone is different. I personally want to start trying next year for #2... (just have to get DH on board & DS will be a year and 1/2)

its a personal preference but for me and DH, 2-3 years is a good age range between kids.

At the rate we are going, we are looking at 3-4 years - ideal or not, it is what it is for us, and we are older.....

For me ideal would have been 2 years between them....I always think thats a great age difference...but they will be 2 years, 10 months. If he had been a bit easier we prob would have had the second already

MY ideal gap was for my kids to be 18-24 months apart. My DH's ideal was 3-4. Kaydyn is 14 1/2 months now and we will prob TTC early next year making them almost 3 years apart.

My DD's are two years two weeks apart and truthfully, I couldn't have had them any closer, I think this is the perfect age gap. They are so close now.

I don't think there is ever a one size fits all response to this kind of question - it depends on the parents, their age, their circumstances, their finances, and even the temperment of their first kid.

I thought I wanted my children 2 years apart, like I am with my brothers. Nature dictated otherwise and to be honest, I'm happy it worked out that way because with Alex's particular temperment, I think introducing a baby into the mix too early would have been a disaster. For our particular family dynamic, it's perfect that she'll be just about 4 when the new baby comes.
