Ideal for me would have been 2-3 yrs but then I realized how expensive daycare was. I am thinking for us it might be 4-5 yrs.

2-3 years for us. Far apart enough to not have 2 in diapers, close enough to easily get back in baby mode

It's a very personal decision. My mom and other experienced older mothers/grandmothers always told me 2 - 2.5 years is the "ideal"
DH and I wanted to wait 3-4 years or maybe even 5 .....

for ME 2-3 years, I always said I wanted my children to be no more than 3 years apart but I DID NOT want 2 under 2

my children will be 2.5 years apart

Personal decision but I do not want to have back to back kids close in age. Ideally I want to wait 2-3 years before TTC again.

I've been wondering the same thing. I think 2-3 years is good...this way DD is more self sufficient and on the way to being potty trained. I want to start trying for #2 this summer.

Totally depends on the family and what's best for it.

I think anyway where from 1-3 years apart. BUT my oldest and my middle are 7 1/2 years apart and they are sooooooo close. The baby said my DD's name before she said ma ma. No joke.
Then I went and another baby immediately after my middle was born. We had our own reasons why and it worked for us. It's not easy having little ones so close in age but so worth it to me.

IMHO, it all depends on how you rasie them. My brother and I are 6 years apart and we are not close at all. It's NOT b/c of the age gap it's bc we were raised independently. So althought we grew up together we really didn't grow up together.

My oldest will be raised and will grow up with her little sisters. She will be involved in everything regardless of the big gap.

Well we won't be having another baby until Jacen is probably 3 or 4 years old.

There are a lot of factors involved in that decision (money, working, jacen was a difficult baby , etc).

Plus i want Jacen to hopefully be potty trained and a little more self sufficient if you know what i mean before i tackle #2, especially if #2 is as difficult as Jacen was.

For us 3 years was ideal.....Kerri is ready for school in September and is already so independent. She understands that a baby is coming and looks forward to helping.

Also as they grow older I feel 3 years is a good gap so they have their own friends and are able to be in school on their own for a bit before the younger one moves into the building.

For us, we wanted some time "alone" with DD before we TTC. However, I do not want my children to be so far apart that they have nothing in common. We will start TTC in September when DD is 19 months so that she will be about 2.5 when baby #2 is due.

22 months betweeb my boys seems great....DS is old enough to help and walk and do a lot himself but he isnt Totally out of the baby stage which makes the transition back to NB for me much easier

I definitely think it's different for every family and only a decision they can make. So many factors go into planning for #2 and #3 etc.

Where one right after the other might work for some, spacing it out for a few more years might work better for others.

I always said I didn't want my kids more than 2-3 yrs apart. My first two are 21 months apart, which is OK bc my ILs help us by watching #2 so we don't have 2 in daycare FT. If we go for a 3rd, we hope to wait until DS#1 is in kindergarten. Having 3 in daycare would kill us financially.

I always wanted my kids to be 2-3 years apart.

We have been trying for 2 years and it still hasnt happen. Sometimes you cant plan.

We are doing IVF now and hoping that it works.

DC will be 5 next week.

I think about this all the time lately. Ideally for us we will probably start trying again once DS turns 1, I'd like our first 2 to be close in age so we will see.

Well in my mind I think I want them 18-24 months, but I have no idea if that will be ideal or not until I get there
