Poll: re" middle names...FUNNY UPDATE LOLL
I ask this on Prenting and not on Pregnancy, because you all know how frequently or INfrequently (as my dc's are) your dc is called by his first AND middle name..
My dh hates the first name ive picked..I love it, and we cant find anything else we can agree on...
He has decided that i could have my first name choice, if he could have his middle name choice (which is RIDICULOUS)
Would you do it? Pick a middle name you hated, to have a first name you loved??!?!
Since, i know everyones gonna ask..my dd's middle name is Shea, as in Stadium..this happened with her too lol
This one..he wants the middle name to be Piazza..AS IN #31, MIKE PIAZZA
IS HE CRAZY!?
btw: we have a very Italian first and last name being used..Piazza just puts it over the edge to me lol

Anyway, I don't know, I probably would just bc DH and I never agree on names, Chelsea was literally a shock that we both agreed to...

Same here. It is one thing to be a fan of a team, but that is taking it a bit too far. DH is a cardinals fan and if he wanted to name either of our kids Pujols I would have laughed in his face.

most people don't even know other peoples middle names, so i say go for it.
my DD middle name is hideous, so i just refer to her by her 1st name, and will NEVER EVER use her middle name.
if you ask my best friend whom i have known since birth what my middle name is, she will look at me with 3 heads and say i dont know, and what's funny is my middle name is her 1st name.
enough rambling...sorry.
but yea, if you get to choose the 1st name, i dont see why he cant choose the middle

NO!
Pick a name BOTH of you like. BOTH 1st and middle.
Mike Piazza is WAY over the top here. I was thinking like a "REAL" name that you did not like. NOT the lastname of a Mets player.
I love the Yankees. Yet, I would not have picked Derek and Jeter for a middle name.
ETA: I never realized that Shea was for the stadium. Which works for her.
In his case, he is going to have to explain to everyone all his life about his middle name. Not fair!

It's a middle name...and it isn't THAT bad. If using Piazza as the middle name allows you to name DS what you want,,I say go for it!
Unless I am asked, no one knows my middle name. I doubt he will be spending his days explaining to people the meaning behind his middle name

With the names my family members have,,,NOTHING phases me.
I really dont think it's THAT BAD. You watch,,,it's going to grow on ya
ETA: HOW italian is the first name?? Is it a long italian name? If his name is going to be GianCarlo Piazza Buongiorno...then yeah, it might be TOO much

Honestly, it is a middle name, just hope he doesn't get in trouble too much so you have to use it
(This is coming from the daughter of a Floyd though, we have a LOT of oddball names in our family )

I always told DH that if he truly wanted our child to have a name that had to do with his favorite past time, it would have to be "Brett" because there is no way I'd ever name my kid "Eli".
But to answer your question, I wouldnt name a child a name I didnt like - first or middle.
BTW - I am seriously considering "Brett" as a name for our second child when it is time - boy or girl.

And KateDevine, i KNEW youd say yes!! hehehe, i remember awhile back you saying your dh was a die hard Ranger fan hahahaha He actually first wanted the NYR goalies name..

Since I know your last name, I actually think it kind of goes together. 
But Piazza is nuts! I think he is doing it to test you.
We are both HUGE Mets fans, but would never even consider it. In fact, my maiden name is the name of a famous Met. I would NEVER consider it for my child.

Forgetting why your DH would want to use the name Piazza, I just think it is way too close to the word "Pizza."
If you give a child a name that is very obviously connected to a famous person, what happens if that famous person becomes involved in something scandalous? I am asking this even though the favorite girl name does come from someone famous (but no, it is not Mariah).
