Poll: Spinoff to Christmas/Holiday cards
If you do photocards for the holiday's do you do them with a photo of just your child/children or do you use a family photo with all of you in it? Just wondering since this will be Athan's first Christmas. Thank you!

I think we are planning on a family photo (especially since we are out of state now and many have not seen us since we moved).
But I would love to do a montage one with a family shot and then a few of just DD.

With a face that cute, he needs the spotlight on him, and him alone!!
On a side note, DH's aunt & uncle (in their 60's) whose kids are all grown, now send Christmas cards with just the 2 of them sitting on mall Santa's lap every Christmas! It's the most hysterical card ever!!!

This is DS's first Christmas also, so this year I am trying to convince DH to have all of us. Next year, baby # 2 will be here, so we will probably just do a card with the two kids.

I just wonder why they are usually pictures of the kids - I guess no one really cares what we look like, huh

hahahhahahahahahhahaha - can you imagine sitting on Santa's lap at that age and sending that out to everyone?!

For our first family Christmas, we sent out a card that had pics of just him and a family shot. This yea I was planning on doing just DS, but since he has entered his fear of strangers/seperation anxiety phase and won't sit for pictures without screaming for us, I don't think that'll happen. So it'll probably be another family shot or just him if I get really lucky.

Family photo cards are nice for immediate family and close friends.. everyone else i would just send card with dds pic.. who really would want to see a pic of my dh and I..
eta: dh and i are horrible at taking pictures as a group anyway.. like to avoid this as much as possible.

We will often do several photos on the card and one is usually a family photo because almost all of our family is out of state from us and we don't see them. It's not an absolute though. If we don't get a photo we like then just kids it fine too.

i love family photos over just kids, just a personal preference. it's nice to see what everyone looks like if you haven't seen them in a while.
that being said, it would be SO MUCH easier for me to send out just kid(s) photos because i'm "the photographer" in the family. i can't justify spending lots of $$ on a studio so i settle with a family member taking a snap shot and get annoyed because i know i could get a better photo. but it's the price i have to pay to get the family shot done .

I think it's a cute idea but would probably do the baby only. Even if it was the baby with a snowglobe of the tree.
The family picture in front of the tree could be in your album.

This will be our first holiday card with DS. In the past we used a pic of Peanut our dog. So this year the pic will probably be of the two of them.
