Poll-What is your lot size and are you satisfied with it?
What is your lot size and are you happy with it? Why or why not if you would like to answer.

Re: Poll-What is your lot size and are you satisfied with it?
We have a .5 acre and while I like having the space, I HATE maintaining it. It's not even the lawn...that I could deal with. It's the massive amount of shrubery/trees/weeds that are constantly growing.
We are definitely not opposed to getting a smaller lot for our next house.

we have a 75 x 100 plot and its fine for us. My brother has an acre and he never uses any of it just nice that your neighbors are not close just a PIA to water and cut.

Re: Poll-What is your lot size and are you satisfied with it?
Of course my lot size isn't up there!
We have 85 x 100 in a neighborhood of 60 x 100 lots so it feels big. It's plenty of room for a patio plus lots of green for the backyard where we will (hopefully one day) put a swing set, kiddie pool, etc. and still have space to run around and play on the grass.
We just moved this spring and needed to start maintaining right away so we're just paying landscapers to do the mowing - $25 a week. We do all the other upkeep. The size does not feel overwhelming at all.

Re: Poll-What is your lot size and are you satisfied with it?
We're 60x100. I wish we had more room.
I wanted enough room for a deck, pool, patio, shed, slip n slide, and enough grass area for a swing set and mini badminton/volleyball court.
We have just enough room for a deck, patio, pool, shed, swing set. I didn't expect a large property size anyway - it just would have been nice.

Re: Poll-What is your lot size and are you satisfied with it?
we have 75x100 & it's perfect for us. even down the road with kids it will be more then enough for us. The grass areas and the garden beds are just easy enough for us to maintain ourselves.

Re: Poll-What is your lot size and are you satisfied with it?
We're on 1/4 of an acre.
1/4 of an acre is 75x150 - not 100x100.
ETA: It's a great size property.

You are right. 100/100 is just shy of a quarter acre (.23+). Forgot an acre is 43,560 sq ft, not 40,000.
Can't edit poll.

Re: Poll-What is your lot size and are you satisfied with it?
We have roughly 120x120. DW and I would both love multiple acres. Not all maintained, of course. most of the acreage would be all natural, with trails through them.

What do you think of your prop size? How does it feel? I know every neighborhood and lot/block is different, just trying to get a feel.
Another ? for everyone. What do you prefer, more space on the sides from neighborrs or more space in the back from neighbors behind you?

Re: Poll-What is your lot size and are you satisfied with it?
We have 1/2 acre and I don't think I could have any less.
Maintaining the shrubs, trees, etc is a lot of work but I like having the distance from the neighbors and the space to grow on. We have a swingset and a pool set up now and still have green space to run on and to look out on and enjoy.

Re: Poll-What is your lot size and are you satisfied with it?
We have .3 acres and there are pros and cons.
Pro - I like that my neighbors are not on top of me. No one can easily see into our yard. At my parents' house, their neighbor put up a 6 foot fence and then put a 3 foot deck around his pool, which is right by said fence. He is always - without fail - outside - shirtless when they have parties. I am glad this will not be an issue for us.
Con: A lot to maintain

Re: Poll-What is your lot size and are you satisfied with it?
we have 100x150 and we just cleared a lot of it so we actually have a decent size property now. I really like it. I wouldn't want less land at all if anything I would want more.
I want an even distance between my house and the people in back of us as well as the sides. I really don't like when you can see into either house. I think I would actually take a house closer to the street and have less of a front yard over a very small backyard

80x100 - in Massapequa, I'll take it and be happy - it's the price I pay for being in this location.
I DO wish I had enough room for an inground pool though ..........Oh well

pretty sure we are 75x150 if not then its 65 x 150.... its PERFECT!!!! i wouldnt want anything smaller. its plenty of room for a huge pool (which luckly came with the house) and a swing set and plent of grass for abby to play!! alot of upkeep but worth it!

This is what we have as well and its fairly common in the area that we live in. Some days, like when we have BBQs and people over, I wish there was more room but more often than not, I am happy that there is so little to maintain on a weekly basis.

We have a 1/2 acre. I love it. Wouldn't want any less or any more... but it's a lot to maintain but it's nice to think of new things to do with it for the future.

We just saw a house with 1.25 acre and we did note that most was natural - which we could handle.
I only have one neighbor, on my side, and he's barely around, so I'm not sure what I would like better.

Multiple acres just isn't going to happen on LI without spending $$$$$$, and we realize that.
The property we do have isn't bad. We have a big front yard, pretty big house, and still have room in the back for the kids and a small patio.
I would prefer more space in the back so DC have more room to play. I don't want to reach out and shake my neighbor's hands from our windows, but as long as you aren't right on top of the neighbors, you can always put up trees.
