Pool
How did you choose to pay for your pool installation/yard renovation? Savings, home equity loan, finance, etc? Just trying to figure out the best way.

Re: Pool
We took out a home equity loan, I did not want to take all that money out of savings. We paid it back pretty quickly.

This is what we’re thinking too. I don’t want to use savings either.

We are putting in a pool this summer. We used some of our savings for the deposit, the rest is coming from DHs overtime bank. He can convert his comped hours into money and cash in so we are doing that for the other half. If we didn’t have that we would have to wait another year to save the cash for it

We’ll prob wind up doing the same. We are planning an entire yard renovation. We will prob just break it up into 2 yrs so help with the cost.

Re: Pool
We used money that we had saved for it. We still need to sink a ton into the landscaping/patio though... but that will be done in stages.
Our pool was started in the fall and still waiting on the liner/finishing touches.

We're doing an AG pool with installation, electrical, some yard improvements it will be a few thousand so we are using our savings. If we were doing an IGP with pavers, etc I would have used a home equity loan or financed since it would have been much more, as long as the interest rate was low.
