I don't like the name, I think it's dumb. But like others have said, there are WAY worse celebrity baby names out there. I might be ok with it if the name was Ivy Blue instead of Blue Ivy.

I'd rather name my child something interesting and unique as they did then one of the top 10 names in this country! Whats worse? Having an interesting name or being one of a bunch of kids with the same name all through school??

None of the 3 Christina's in my grammar school had any problem with sharing a name. But I got made fun of as a Jillian. So, yeah, they might be able to appreciate it when they are older, but for young kids, different is bad, not unique or interesting. Also, having a "normal" name would problem have been MORE unique for a celebrity kid.
That being said, I doubt they'll make fun of her. She could probably buy them.

I've been wondering why they didn't schedule "Blue's" (sorry, that name is a joke - I think of Blue's clues) birthday for 1/4 since they are so obsessed with the no. 4. I'm suuure they managed to pick the date of the surrogate's section considering they control everything else. Was she born on the 8th? maybe 4+4= blue's bday?

Her name could be "Cucumber Melon" and kids still wouldn't make fun of her!! haha not sure what about the name Blue Ivy made me associate to cucumber melon, except that both are ridiculous as a baby name

Fifi Trixabelle, Peaches, Apple, Moon Unit, Dweezil, Pilot Inspektor, Scout, Tallulah, Rumer.. none of them seem to be killing themselves because of their names. I think she'll be just fine.

According to NYC mini paper AM New York- The word/color blue holds meaning to Jay-Z as he often raps about the shade and released three “Blueprint” albums. “Ivy” reference the roman numeral for the number four, both siginificant for them as Beyonce’s b-day is Sept 4th. Jay’s b-day is Dec 4th and they were married on April 4th and Beyonce’s latest album is titled 4.
I think it's a bit much but to his her own

I like the concept of how they came up with the name...but think they should've gone with Ivy Blue.
Regardless, this kid is set no matter what her name.
