Post-baby body...
For those who gained 40+ lbs during your pregnancy...
Did you ever get a FLAT stomach again?
I honestly am not sure if what's here on my stomach is FAT or SKIN. How can I tell the difference? (Sorry if that's a stupid question)
Also, I feel like my stomach muscles are SO stretched out. The second that I eat something, I look insanely pregnant again! Are there any specific exercises for that?

Re: Post-baby body...
It got flat but not as flat as it once was. The muscles definitely felt loose but I think with ab exercises I could have gotten it there eventually. I'm up 45lbs with this PG so let's see what 2 does to it

Re: Post-baby body...
I think it's stretched out skin. It just feels a lot looser and I don't think all the exercises in the world will bring it back. JMO...I still look pg sometimes too.

Re: Post-baby body...
I only gained about 19lbs. during pregnancy, and now am actually about 10 pounds less than my pre-pregnancy weight and I STILL have a pouchy flabby stomach. From what I hear, it's virtually impossible to ever have a flat stomach after having a baby!

Re: Post-baby body...
yes, took a while but I did get my flat stomach back. I gained 56 lbs with my pregnancy and lost all but 5. There is a pic of my almost "after" body in my pregnancy album. There was more improvement since then but I don't have a picture. I was definitely not as skinny as the before shot but I was happy.

First off, for losing all but 5!
I still have like 10-12 to go
When I lay down, the skin looks all loose and disgusting. It honestly looks like those people you see on TV talk shows who have lost a ton of weight really quickly and now have sagging skin. It's GROSS!!!

Thanks, it's the snack foods that I am trying to cut back on. I am a huge snacker so it's hard. I have the same soft skin.

Re: Post-baby body...
Im 2.5 years PP (does that even count as PP anymore, LOL) and I had gained 47lbs when PG and look like hell. Its not that I weigh a lot, I could stand to lose 10 lbs...but my stomach muscles are virtually useless so the lbs I can stand to lose arent held in AT ALL. I still look 4 months pg.

I am actually thinner now than when I was pre-preg, but look and feel heavier. My stomach is a mess, and I still don't fit in my pre-preg clothes.

Re: Post-baby body...
Don't feel bad...I gained 17lbs and I feel the same! Then I started p90x and i had CRAZY pains where my incision was and when I asked the doctor he said I should be doing very light exercise until my body goes back to normal which could be months (and its already been 4 moths!) I swear it is harder to get rid of my "flab" bc of teh c-section...not that i had a flat stomach to begin with but I dont think my stomach in general will ever be teh same again

how on earth did you do it?!?!?! Share you secret please!!
I've exercised all of maybe 3, 4 times since Riley was born. This coming from a former 5-6 day a week gym rat. I don't have the interest anymore, yet I get depressed every morning when I get dressed...I had to buy a whole new set of clothes for my 'new' body.
Diet probably would help...I wouldn't say I eat terribly, but I could do better. I just have to find a way to get the energy to work out at night...but it's hard when I get home, and my job is to get Riley to bed for the night, and make dinner. By the time we sit down to eat it's 7pm. And I hate to work out on a full stomach.
Ugh....I just hate how I feel now.

I can relate - sad story. A couple weekends ago, my friend's daughter asked me "Are you gonna have another baby?" And I thought it was just an innocent question, as if I planned on it. I said "No, we're not ready yet." And she said, "No, I mean now." It really did have everything with the way I was standing and what I was wearing. Yikes, talk about a wake up call.

This is exactly me, I gained 18lbs and now I'm 10lbs less than I was pre-pg but my stomach is just not the same. Kinda flat, but still a pouch of skin. I also had a c/s, not sure if that matters or not. I feel like its skin bc sucking in doesnt help like it used to, pre-pg. DH just says dont worry just a few crunches and you'll be fine! But I dont feel like doing it lol

Re: Post-baby body...
It is taking me a long time to lose the 50+ pounds i gained. I have about 6-7 pounds left to lose. I am running 2 1/4 miles 4 times a week at my work gym on my lunch hour. I am almost at my pre pregnancy weight. As far as my stomach it is almost flat. I cut out all snacks and sticking to a strict diet. DS is almost 8 months so it has taken me this long to get the weight off.

Re: Post-baby body...
Even though I am back to where I was # weight wise pre baby #2, things are definitely different.
I don't expect things to look for feel the same. I think not having that expectation has helped me accept my post baby body a little better.
I bust my AZZ to stay in shape and even though I do...there's skin, there's extra softness.... it's just what it is

Re: Post-baby body...
DS is 13 months...I am SLOWLY getting it back. I am back in my pre-preggo jeans and am starting to wear form fitting tops without being as self consious. Other people say I look great but in my head I am just not there yet. I'm a Phys Ed teacher (run around with the kids all day long) and go the the gym 3-5 days a week when DH isn't working crazy hours. I'm feeling like there isn't much more I can do. I have to let it go a bit. By the time I get my flat stomach back, I will probably be looking to have #2.
