Post partum joint pain?
Has anyone experienced this? First I had the unexplained fevers and now this. A few weeks ago I went to urgent care because my right ring finger started to hurt. It got to the point where is was so swollen and I could barely move it. They said it was sprained. Now, my left ring finger is presenting the same exact symptoms. The pain is all in the joint where my finger meets my hand. Also, today, my hips started aching. Can this be related to having the baby. I really need to make an appt with my dr for a physical. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. TIA

Post partum joint pain?
I had unexplained foot and knee pain. I put it off for months until my partners at work threatened to call my boss. I was diagnosed at 5 months pp with Rheumatoid arthritis. For years I would get just unexplained arm/wrist/hand pain like I had broken it in my sleep and then it would just be gone. Swelling, redness, pain, all of it. Go get some blood work done and stay on top of it! Do you have any family hx of autoimmune diseases?

Re: Post partum joint pain?
My hips and pelvis hurt alot after. I think (especially if you are breasfeeding) your hormones are still making your ligaments lax which can cause discomfort. Never had it in my fingers though. hope you feel better!

Post partum joint pain?
Thanks ladies! I did read an old thread on baby center that a lot of women had this too and it was from hormones! I also read when I googled that it could be fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and a few other things. I guess I'll make an appt with my dr before I drive myself nuts.

Re: Post partum joint pain?
My joints hurt so much I could cry. I have an undiagnosed autoimmune disorder. I am assuming giving birth has caused a flare. I really need to go see my rhumatologist but most meds I have looked into are not compatible with breastfeeding so I will be putting it off as long as I can take it.
