Potty training advice please!
My DD is 20 months old, and she has showed some signs of being ready. If I know she has to go and I stick her on the potty she will go in there and clap after, like she knows she did good. But do you think it is too early to full on potty train her? She never tells me when she has to go, I have to ask her a million times and even then she doesn't always answer. I've heard 2 is when you are "supposed"to start. Any advice would be helpful!

I'm not at that stage but I have friends who have been thru it... It sounds like she is getting ready, I would try and see how she does, of course you don't want to force it but it seems like she knows that she is doing a good thing when she goes...can't hurt to start, you can always pull back if she gets frustrated.

I don't think it's too early at all... I don't believe in the "supposed to start time"... you start when you and your child are ready. I think she's aware of the potty and knows she's doing good by going in it! I say keep it up... nothing wrong with having her completely trained now!! I WISH my son showed interest! He's 28 months!
ETA - I wouldn't PUSH it, just do what you're doing and eventually it will happen! Congrats! This is a major milestone!

i think they say 2 because typically that's when they supposedly can have some bladder control.. i have known some people to have trained their children before 2 with great success. good luck!

Re: Potty training advice please!
Just follow her lead. Take her to the store and show her "big girl" undies and explain when she goes in the potty all the time she can pick out which ever ones she wants. I wouldn't push it too hard though since she's still fairly young.
