POTTY TRAINING?? He isin't ready, but he wants to try.

So DS is almost 20 months and has been showing a lot of interest in the potty. SO much so, that when I noticed he needed to poop the other day, I asked him if he wanted to go poops on the potty. He said yes, and tried!!! Unfortunetely, I didn't have a potty seat yet, so it was uncomfortable for him to have me hold him, and we weren't successful.

I just got a potty seat this weekend, and he was totally excited and wanted to sit on the potty, no action of course, but he sat there.

What should i be doing? He really is cluless about when he has to pee, and poop is only if I catch the face (ha). I talk to him about it all the time, is he telling me he is ready to really train, or just feeling it out? and i should let him explore?

I am SO CLUELESS, and have been dreading this time forever, HA!

Any thoughts appreciated.

I would leave the potty seat where he can use it at will, .let him sit on it when he wants to

a few times a day, you can remove his diaper and let him sit on it bare bottomed. Make a big deal if he goes and maybe get him a sticker chart or something

whenever my dd goes she says "where's my sticker?"
