Power of Attorney Question...
I would like to get a Power of Attorney agreement for my DH while he is away in military training for the next 3 months.
We have a lot going on - I am due with our first baby and I would like to refinance our mortgage and home equity.
Does anyone know how expensive it is to get one of these drawn up? Also, is there an easy way to do it online or something?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Power of Attorney Question...
I just got POA because my husband and I were in the process of purchasing a home when his company sent him OOT for 3 weeks just this past December. It was very easy. I called the same law firm that we plan on using when we close on our home and spoke to the paralegal who asked a few short questions and then had us both come into the office to sign the form she had drawn up. All she needed to see was our identification cards and we were in and out. The cost for it was $75 and we don't pay that until we close on our home in January.
Good Luck!

Re: Power of Attorney Question...
Although this form is ok to use it is not the standard NY form and may not be accepted by a title company since you want to use it to refinance. If you want I can prepare one for you, I have the form at my office.

Re: Power of Attorney Question...
My attorney told us $75 for the form and the attorney's office charged $100 for their paperwork.

Oh, thank you so much - that is so nice of you to offer! I wish I would've seen this earlier. I actually called an attorney my Mom worked with on her home closing and he is drawing one up for us.

Re: Power of Attorney Question...
Not a problem. I'm glad that you are going through an attorney because it is the best way to ensure that everything is done properly.
Good luck!
