Prayers needed for my best friend, i have to postpone her baby shower as well (need help)

I am so depressed about this. I feel horrible for my best friend and there is nothing I can do to help the situation. Her DH was admitted to the hospital last Sunday due to a pain in his side. Turns out he has pancreatis. He got moved to ICU this past Friday after hallucinating in his regular room. It wasnt even a reaction to the medicine, he started to get aggressive and they had to move him, this is NOT like him. He has now been sedated for the past 3 days (since friday) and they just learned yesterday he now has a bad case of pneumonia as well. They had to insert a breathing tube to help his breathing. And they just inserted a central IV to his chest last night The dr's said he's not being moved from ICU for awhile and he is going to be in the hospital at least 2 more weeks.

My best friend is 6 1/2 months pregnant and has been a complete mess Her baby shower that I am throwing is in 2 wks and being held at the restaurant her husband manages. I guess its clear, I am going to have to postpone the shower. What do I say in this postponing letter without explaining the whole situation to every single person??? I am so bad at these things. first and foremost, prayers to your friend..
i think you should probably just send a very general letter or email out, saying the shower has been postponed, and that mommy and baby are doing well..and then maybe friends of friends can spread the word for you..
i think people that are close enough to come to her shower, will probably want to know whats going on, to make sure shes ok.. good luck

first and foremost, prayers to your friend..
i think you should probably just send a very general letter or email out, saying the shower has been postponed, and that mommy and baby are doing well..and then maybe friends of friends can spread the word for you..
i think people that are close enough to come to her shower, will probably want to know whats going on, to make sure shes ok.. good luck

I think something that vague will create gossip about the friend. I would say: Due to friends husband being ill, the shower will be postponed. He is expected to make a full recovery. Please keep your prayers and best wishes coming for them and I will let you all know when we have decided on an alternate date.

I would just be honest with the guests and tell the truth about the situation. I am wondering why you are inclined to be so vague? The guests will worry and begin calling the mommy to be for more informaiton. Also, you are here posting for prayer, ask the guests for them as well.
