pre school question

I want to enroll my son in preschool in Sept (he will be 3). I was told that alot of the preschools have orientations in January.

How do I go about finding out about the different preschools?

I am looking for something 2-3 days a week, in the afternoon, ending anytime 3 and after (I want to be able to at least pick him up ).

I am looking around the Babylon, West Islip, BayShore, Islip, East Islip area.

I'm not in LI, but I am in NY. Most of my preschools adverstise their open houses in the Pennysaver or you can just look in the yellow pages and call and ask for a tour at anytime or ask if/when they are having one!

I drove around town and found preschools to check out. I would then call them and sign up for an 'interview'. It is very true that they might have an open house in January. But I do know that the preschool we are putting DS into actually begins filling its fall spots in January. So we had to be prepared by Janurary 1, in hopes of getting the times we want.
