Preeclampsia
I'm 31 weeks and about 3 days ago my legs and feet blew up like pillows it happened in one day and I wasn't even on my feet a lot that day. I was home lounging. Since then they've became progressively worse. Then last night at work I noticed my urine becoming almost frothy and I know this can be a sign of protein in your urine. So I checked my BP at work and it was 159/84! I'm so nervous now that I'm developing preeclampsia. Did anyone ever get diagnosed with this and what were your symptoms/outcome. I'm seeing my doc first thing tomorrow morning.

Preeclampsia
Are you on bp meds? They may prescribe some for you. They may also have you do a 24 hr urine collection.
I was sent to l&d when 37w for high bp but never developed pre-e. They did tell me to watch out for any pain in my side like under my ribs.
For now just try to avoid salt and try to relax!

Re: Preeclampsia
No this all just started I haven't even told my doctor yet. I'm seeing him tomorrow morning so I'll see what he thinks. I'm going to have him recheck my BP too. I'm sure he'll order a ton of labs and a 24 hour urine.

Preeclampsia
I had no swelling at all. Out of no where my bp hit 170/100, I was 35&1/2 weeks. They induced me. Call your doctor and get evaluated ASAP.

Re: Preeclampsia
I had Pre-E and HELLP with my first pregnancy - delivered 32 weeks 5 days. I had swelling, high BP and proteins. It all worked out just fine in the end and I have a very healthy 2 year old. It's great you are seeing your doctor in the morning - don't wait on it. Some symptoms they looked for - chest pain, blurry vision, swelling and a big change in BP from what it had been all along. The 84 number isn't bad at all - and I think the lower number is the one they look at more closely.
It is great that you are past 31 weeks if this is going to happen. Even at 32 weeks - my DD didn't need any sort of surgery or special help born that early - just extra time to grow and help maintaining her temperature at that age.
On a side note - I had a lot of swelling yesterday due to the hot weather and today am back to normal - so maybe it's that - I don't want to downplay it - I think it's really a good idea to see your doctor. Hugs and good luck!!!

Re: Preeclampsia
i had minor "normal" swelling that got progressively worse from 30 weeks on but my bp was fine. Then at 37w, there was protein in my urine, and my normally low bp shot up. i had to do a 24 hour urine collection, bring it straight to the hospital 2 days later and was prepped for a csection (i was already scehduled for a c the week after, so we just did it 4 days early). I had to be on magnesium for a day after delivery which was not fun, and my bp was elevated for a couple of weeks after that. then it went down, and had no issues. never had to take bp meds or anything.

Preeclampsia
BTW, I had no swelling, no protein, not other signs or symptoms of pre-e, ONLY the high BP.
