Pregnancy after miscarriage
When do you start to relax and enjoy the pregnancy?
When I was pregnant with my DD, ignorance was bliss. I never even thought something would go wrong.
Now after the miscarriage, I'm a nervous wreck. I'm 4w 4d and keep having this annoying ovulation type pain on my right side and I'm paranoid that I'm going to lose this baby too

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage
I wouldn't know for sure since I'm not fortunate enough to be in this position just yet. We are still trying month after month.
But I know that when the time does come I will feel the same sense of fear. I do think it's important to somewhat ignore it and try to just believe that the end result will be different. More of a mind over matter type of thing. That's what I'm going to try to go with at least.
good luck!! just try to think positive. I'm sorry.

ITA with all of this! i'm also not pregnant yet but i do believe that all you can do is think positively! enjoy being pregnant each day and next thing you know.....it will be time to deliver your baby! i KNOW it's way easier said than done but try to stay positive and know that you can come here if you feel scared or need to vent

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage
1st of CONGRATS!!!! That is wonderful news!!!
I'm not going to lie, you will def be nervous but once you confirm things are going well and see a HB, that will help!!! I am now 15 1/2 wks and now starting to really feal comfortable with this pregnancy. The 1st few appts you jsut have to make it through and then you will feel SAFE by 12 wks.
Just chatting with the women on all of the boards, help to keepo me calm. I was paranoid about every little thing...but being able to get reassurance by all the women on here HELPED A LOT.
Cramping is very normal. I kept thinking I had a Cyst b/c it was on one side around where your ovaries are... BUT IT IS TOTALLY NORMAL TO HAVE THAT CRAMPING!!
Lot's of prayers for a healthy pregnancy. Feel free to FM me with any questions or concerns.
MY best advice is try to enjoy the next month or two. It will be very stressful and nerve racking... THE Best way I found to deal with everything is to LET MYSELF ENJOY IT. Not let the worry take over....start reading pregnancy bookd, come up with lists of names, bedding you like, cribs, maternity clothes...etc. Keep yourself busy and start thinking about all these wonderful things!!!

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage
Honestly for me it wasnt until around 16 weeks (the first anatomy scan) that I felt a little relief. Good luck to you

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage
I had 2 miscarriages before Abby and one before Zippy (who I am 28+ weeks PG with now). Frankly, even after amnios with both of these pregnancies, I have never been settled that everything will be ok. Miscarriage changes you forever. It gets easier, but it stays in the back of your head.

Same here.
I had two before my DD, I was also pregnant with twins with my DD as well as with this pregnancy and lost a twin with each pregnancy.
I never fully relaxed and was able to sit back and enjoy it. Even now that I am 32 weeks pregnant, everytime I go for a sono, I hold my breath and don't look at the screen until I hear the baby's heartbeat.

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage
Congrats!
For me, personally, I don't think that I will ever really feel relaxed...Not until I get to bring my baby home, or atleast hear him or her cry and see them smile. I don't think I will ever really feel the relief that 12 weeks brings...But, that being said, I do think that I'll enjoy being pregnant again, as I have to just think that as long as I am taking care of myself and doing the best that I can, everything else is out of my control...
Happy & Healthy to you!!!

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage
It's very hard, but you just have to try to let yourself enjoy it. You deserve this great time. As for the O like cramping I had it too ad was sooo scared. Stay away from Dr. Google b/c it scares you even more. You actually are supposed to get a small cyst to help w/ progesterone when you get pg, and thats normally what hte cramping is...I had it too and it terrified me.
Now i'm 16 weeks pregnant and feel a lot better. It's a scary ride w/ all that we know...but you deserve this time, and try to remind yourself of that.

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage
I'm towards the end of my pregnancy and unfortunately worrying thoughts still drift into my head I have to say though, that it got "easier" once I could feel the baby move.

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage
aftre 2 miscarriages, I worried the entire pregnancy. I was constantly policing the toilet paper. Somewhere around 4-5 months I felt more confident, relaxed. But every sonogram gave me anxiety that there would not be a heartbeat.
Miscarriage does change everything, you lose that niave excitement of your first pregnancy.
My second pregnancy now, I'm a lot more relaxed. I dont worry. Although the sonogram machine is still my archnemesis.
