pregnancy and weight loss
I'm not pregnant, but we're TTC so I'm wondering... if you're pregnant is it possible to continue losing weight or to not gain as much weight during your pregnancy if you continue a diet an exercise routine (safe for pregnant women), assuming you have 30 pounds to lose at the time you become pregnant.

That's definitely a question for your doctor. Good luck!

Re: pregnancy and weight loss
I would def speak with the Dr but there are many girls on here who lost or stayed very low gain during their pregnancy. Just try to eat healthy and continue to work out as long as DR gives the ok Also don't get discouraged if it doesn't work out the way you plan - your body is going to do what it needs to keep that baby safe!

Re: pregnancy and weight loss
I don't think anyone should be actively trying to lose weight when they're pregnant although eating healthy and keeping up exercise is a great thing.
I know if you are overweight/obese doctors do recommend that you gain way less than the 25-30 lbs recommended. Some women only gain like 10 lbs and it's FINE in their situation.
Really listen to your body though. When I found out I was pregnant, i was determined to eat healthy, get to the gym, etc. Well, first trimester kicked my butt and all I wanted was bagels and being in a car made me barf so treadmills etc were a negative. I have gained more than I'd like but you can ALWAYS lose it after the baby.
Also, I was just reading today in my baby book (since I'm approaching the 3rd trimester) that this is the time when eating fats are very important for the baby since it's developing her brain.
These are the things you should be aware of. Fats will be important and so will sufficient calories

Re: pregnancy and weight loss
It really depends on your size and current actvity level. Doctors don't want you to start any new exercise but if you already go to the gym they prefer you to continue the routine. As far as losing weight, my sister in law is considered obese and she has lost 30lbs while pregnant. This is very common in bigger women.
