Re: pregnancy/motherhoor related - vent (long)
I'm so sorry I would be so hurt too. I am going to be my best friend's MOH in October and I'll have a baby around 6 months old. I don't see why that should prevent you being a BM.

Aw Gabbie I am so sorry. You have every right to be upset, if my sister didn't have me in her wedding it would have hurt me as well and I wouldn't be able to keep quite about it either. Does your mother know how you feel?

Re: pregnancy/motherhoor related - vent (long)
Having an 11 week old *MIGHT* have been an excuse, but an 11 month old???
By 11 months, you have your baby down pat - you forget that this kid wasn't in your life - you can do anything with an 11 month old. By the time Cailen was 11 months old, we already:
Went to my cousin's unveiling (a Jewish thing - he died the year before - we unveiled the gravestone) - I went alone - 11 days after giving birth. THEN I went to a baby shower that afternoon
2 weeks old - I went (alone) to a fundraiser dinner.
Traveled to NJ (The part close to Philly) with DH and Cailen, and stayed in a hotel - 3 weeks old!
4 weeks old - celebrated a mother's day luncheon with Cailen
3 months old - took him camping at a folk festival for 10 days - in a tent!!!
We went to so many parties with him. At almost 11 mts old, we went to Florida with him for a week!
That was very insensitive of your sister - and stupid of her because you will remember this forever when you think about or talk about her wedding. She should have given you a role and let you say if you were able to or not.....

OMG! this would really upset me as well! I was my cousin's MOH when my son was 3 months old and it was upstate...it wasn't easy, but we made it work! My DS is 11 months now and he's a breeze, she shouldn't think that you'd be incapable of doing anything!

I am sorry- you have every right to be hurt and upset. I don't really have any additional advice, but I just wanted to let you know how sorry I am that you have been put through this.

I'm so sorry I would be so hurt if my sister did that to me. You should be the first person she thinks of to be in her bridal party. And if she really does have a concern about someone watching the baby, then she should leave that decision up to you, not decide for you by not asking you to be in her BP.

I don't care if you will have an 11 month old or an 11 day old! You should be in her bridal party. And I agree with a PP, you should be BM #1!!! I'd be extremely hurt and angry about this and I know me, I wouldn't get over it too easily.
ITA - I am just stunned at your sisters behavior and that she had 9 BM in her wedding party but cannot have her sister who has a child? I'm sorry, but that would have me LIVID and I would make my feelings very well known.
Her memories of her wedding day (pictures, video) will not include HER SISTER and that is going to be something SHE regrets down the line. How she can have such little regard for your feelings baby or no baby is beyond me and I am so sorry she is doing this to you
