Pregnancy Related- Front-Load Washers
We just recently got new front-load washers, which require the HE detergent. We bought All Free & Clear, to wash all of baby's things and our things too.
My question to those w/front-load washers: are there sometimes soap suds along the front of the door when the load's done...meaning, you would drag the clothes through it when you're taking them out? This has been happening to us, and I can't figure out why. Also, it feels like not all of the soap comes out, it seems like when I pick something up it makes the noise like it still has soap in it (does that make sense ).
Anyone experience this? I want to make sure all the soap's coming out so it doesn't irritate baby!

maybe try posting this on the "home" board too - someone may have more info but my parents recently got a frontloader and i was reading up on it for them - they do say you don't need as much soap when its HE.
I WISH i had my own washer/dryer but we're in an apt. and can't.

You need to use hardly any detergent. The repair guy told me at one time even if it is the HE rated soap you only need like a tablespoon or two of soap. You have to remember it uses very very little water (like 2 -5 gallons) so it is harder to wash all the bubbles out. The HE soap is a low sudsy soap.

They def. have HE compatible free & clear soap options.... I think you're probably using too much regular soap.

Stick to HE soaps, don't use too much, and run an extra rinse cycle.

Re: Pregnancy Related- Front-Load Washers
Thanks for all the suggestions ladies!!!
I have been using the All Free & Clear HE detergent, up to the first line it says for 'normal' sized/soiled loads. Guess that's too much...it does make sense that that could be the problem, since there's soap left at the end. The last load I did I used an extra rinse cycle, and it still did the same thing.
Anyone use the same detergent? If so, how much do you use? Halfway up to the first line? I just want to use enough to make sure the clothes are clean enough, obviously!
Also, do you think I should re-wash all the baby stuff now? I washed a few loads of receiving blankets, bibs, etc...
Thanks!!!!!
