Preschool teacher gift questions

My son has 1 teacher and 2 assistants. He goes to school full day 5 days a week. I got a letter from a parent about doing a class gift. They are collecting $20 for each day your child is in class. So I would be contributing $100. That seems like a lot to me, but this is my first time with a child in school so I am not sure. What do you think? Also, would I need to do anything personal in addition? They are getting gift cards with the money. Thanks in advance for any advice!!

Re: Preschool teacher gift questions

I think that is alot of money $20 from each student should be sufficient

I'm not sure how much was collected for my son's school because i think we paid something at the beginning of the year for that. In addition I'm giving a small gift for the teacher and assistant.

I am a teacher and would feel soooo uncomfortable knowing you spent $100 on my gift!!! I think a $20 contribution is a very nice and generous gift.

OMG....I got the same letter...I wonder if our kids are in the same class or if it's just a coincidence . I think it's a bit much especially since I am a teacher and would never expect that from my students .

What is a crazy lot of money! For that many days I would think it would be $30 max.

Re: Preschool teacher gift questions

Something doesn't sound right there....$100 is an exorbitant amount of $$. I would clarify. I certainly wouldn't contribute$100

Re: Preschool teacher gift questions

That's what I give in total for ds school(5 full days 50 for 1 teacher 25 for 2 assistants). But it's not a class gift. It's my personal choice. I would assume a class gift would be less expensive.
