Preschool Toddlers...invite the whole class or not?
we're having a party at home....do I invite the whole class (11 other kids) or not? If I do NOT, there'd be her 2 older cousins, a 6 yr old neighbor, and a 3 yr old friend outside of school.

well..when i used to teach, the rule in the place i worked at was that all the kids had to be invited so no one felt bad...
if i were you..id give invitations to the teacher and ask her to put them in the kids backpacks to only the kids you are inviting.. (maybe also put some type of note to the kids/parents invited that you couldnt invite everyone and that you arent inviting the class? so they dont say anything at school and no one feels bad if they hear about it and are not invited? ) id ask DC who he wants to invite... if your already inviting other friends and cousins outside of the school, you may end up with a housefull of kids and usually the kids from preschool ALWAYS attend the birthday parties, minus 2 or 3 kids.

in our schhol - if you hand out inviations in the class you have to invite the whole class. If you don't want to then you have to hand out the invitation outside of school on your own.
I would invite the whole class - usually they don't all come.

Since you are having it at home and don't have to worry about a cost per child issue, I would invite the whole class. Unless of course you don' t have the space. Most schools do have that, invite one - invite them all rule though.

i guess i contradicted the whole thing about the school's rule of inviting everyone by saying to ask the teacher to put the invites in the kids backpacks...thats not good, im guilty of putting invitations in kids folders when i used to teach i had a pretty close relationship with alot of the parents so i did it

I don't think you need to invite the whole class IMO but I know a lot of people do. Roman is having his "birthday party" at school. I am bringing decorations and cupcakes and juice. He will celebrate with a family party at home.

Re: Preschool Toddlers...invite the whole class or not?
I would do a small class party with his school friends in the school if you are allowed. I always bring in cupcakes, balloons and a little favor.
The home party is for her family and our friends kids (aka her non school friends)
