Pressure in lower abdomen
Im almost 12 weeks and I noticed that for the past couple of days I've been feeling tremendous pressure down there and in my lower abdomen and I've also been going to the bathroom a lot more frequently. I did a little research and found that this is quite normal at this stage but jeesh this is some pressure! I have to get up really slowly when Im sitting bc if I get up too quickly I feel pain...I also have a tilted uterus so I'm thinking it could be the pressure of my uterus growing and tilting to its parallel position...did anybody else experience this at 12 weeks?
Thanks!

Honestly? I can't remember 12 weeks b/c I was really so sick....
But it isn't going to get any better, I am sorry to tell you, when you get to the 30's, man oh man does it get ya!!
Good luck, maybe putting your feet up may help

Re: Pressure in lower abdomen
I remember getting a lot of pressure around 16/17 weeks and it hasn't let up since! Ever one is different, but yeah I would say pressure is pretty normal and so is having to go to the bathroom every 2 seconds!

Re: Pressure in lower abdomen
i have a tilted uterus as well. do you know when it is supposed to straighten itself out? my dr. didn't seem concerned and says he's never seen one not straighten out but of course, i'm nervous about this.

I heard it usually straightens itself out at the end of the first trimester or during the second trimester...we'll see.

Re: Pressure in lower abdomen
I have a tilted uterus and felt EXACTLY the same pressure ataround the same time. I had chalked it up to stretching.....

Ok so I guess I don't have to worry about my insides falling out at any moment...
When did your uterus tilt to its normal position/ Do you remember?

Re: Pressure in lower abdomen
I never attributed it to my uterus being tilted- I just figured it was round ligament pain. My doctor has never mentioned it straightening out- I just know that eventually the pressure/straining feeling stopped.
I've also heard that even slight dehydration can cause you to feel lower abdominal pressure.....

Re: Pressure in lower abdomen
Just spoke to my dr. about this today...in the past couple of weeks I've had this pain/soreness and she told me it was pressure. She told me to go buy a maternity belt and it would HELP. I've been wearing it for 90 minutes and it does help. She also yelled at me for trying to spring out of my seat instead of being slow about it.

I felt that pressure around that time too, but don't have a tilted uterus. I was told it's the beginning of round ligament pain.

Same here - I remember calling my doc in week 13 to complain about the pressure (I got nervous). No bleeding so she said in her opinion it was round ligament pain. Baby's making room in there.

Thats what I figured as well...I have my Ultrasound on Tuesday so as long as all is well I can deal with the pain.
