Privacy hedges / trees
Hi everyone - can anyone recommend some bushes or small trees that can act as a privacy wall of sorts? We have a pool and a fence behind it, which looks directly into our neighbors yard and their pool. I'd like some more privacy plus I'd like to make the yard a little greener :) Any recs for something that is fast-growing and low-maintenance? And pics would be great if anyone has any....

green giants - just planted them in the front of our house and will post pics when I get a chance. We used cherry blossom landscaping and design at (516) 287-3318

I was going to recommend these as well. I am probably going to plant these along one side of our yard where we face our neighbor's fence for addtl. privacy.

We did did this! We have the same setup with neighbors and pool as you described. I have to upload the pics and get the info from my DH. We got a GREAT DEAL on them, including delivery and planting.

I ordered these willow hybrids 2 years ago and they were about 1 ft tall twigs, now they are 15 feet tall. They are AWESOME for privacy and really nice looking trees. I especially love that they are more vertical then horizontal, easily prunable and dont make a mess with leaves.

Be careful with the Leyland Cypress...they grow REALLY fast, and HIGH! If that's not what you expected, you may not like them depending on the purpose you're using them for. Some have grown over 100' high! Also, their roots are shallow, so if it rains a lot with some high wind, they are more prone to topple...Same with lots of snow covering them - the weight up top could topple them when they get big because they are not well rooted.

We used Emerald Green Arborvitaes as a screen for our patio.

Can you please let me know who you used? I am looking to change things up in my yard.
THanks!
