Private speech therapy sessions
We recently had our toddler evaluated for speech and the therapists said there is only a slight mild delay and doesn't qualify for services. Since there is a slight delay we were thinking of looking into private speech therapy. Can anyone make any recommendations for private speech therapy? Does this go through our health insurance? Anything we should ask or know ahead of time? We're new to this so any info is appreciated.

most health insurance covers a certain amount of sessions per year but it may require an evaluation as well......

My son had private speech through insurance, also private OT. Where do you live?

The therapist will do an eval and get preauthorization from insurance for a certain number of sessions. If insurance approves, you’ll still be responsible for copay. Those $20 copays twice weekly added up quickly for us.
