Probably a really dumb question, re: infants waking up early and feeding schedule

Riley very unusually woke up at 5am this morning. She usually doesn't wake up on her own until after 7. During the week, I feed her around 6:45 before we head out.

So my question is...she laid there in her crib, started to fuss and cry. I thought she was just tired (she kept trying to suck her thumb but was giving up), apparently she was hungry. I ended up feeding her an entire 8oz.

How much do you feel them if they wake up way before schedule? Do you give them their complete oz, or do you give something smaller?

TIA!

How old is DD? It might be a growth spurt. Anytime DS woke up early I fed him his normal amount because he was hungry. I would offer the same amount you usually would in the morning, and let her take as much as she wants, she won't over eat.

She is going to be 7 months on the 30th. I definitely suspect a growth spurt...her hunger has been insatiable lately!! Yet she's not as big into the solids, go figure.

Thanks!

Definitely agree Tara, DS did the same thing between 6.5-7 mos, just when I thought we had a arrived at a "schedule" of sorts. So we gave him full 8oz bottles in the morning and he was good. Not a dumb question BTW!!!

Colette- only 8 oz in the morning? So the rest of the day go back to what we were doing originally? Thanks!

it's so odd- she wants nothing to do with solids lately. And this kid LOVES to eat...go figure!Chat Icon

I wonder if this is related to her teething- tooth #3 just broke through!
