Probiotic question
I had to be put on heavy duty antibiotics. The doctor told me to make sure I am taking a probiotic. I'm not really familiar with them. I just bought a chewable CVS brand last night, took it last night and then again this morning and then started the antibiotic as instructed by the doctor.
My question is whether its okay to take it again tonight when I take the second dose of the antibiotic or is one a day sufficient? I'm so worried about getting c-diff because I seem to pick up every weird condition there is! (I hate my 40's BTW). I also ate yogurt before taking the antibiotic because I figured that could help in more ways than one.

Probiotic question
Don’t take them with ur antibiotics, take the several hrs before or after (before would be better). I know u didn’t ask but just in case u’re interested in knowing...when choosing a probiotic look for ones that are refrigerated and with high CFU’s.

Re: Probiotic question
Ask your pharmacist how far apart antibiotics and probiotics should be taken.
I take culturelle. I’ve tried more then I can even remember. They actually have one specifically for when you’ve been on antibiotics to help get everything back to normal. I also eat yogurt when on antibiotic as well.
Your pharmacist can help make sure you are taking it correctly. I recommended a probiotic daily in general. Not just now. It helps regulate you and is an immune booster

Re: Probiotic question
No probiotic has ever helped me to be honest. I have tried so many.
Now when I get a script for an antibiotic I tell the Dr to write me Diflucan right along with it because it's a guarantee I will get a yeast infection within days

I didn't ask but I didn't know what to ask. Thanks! I should have asked last night but the pharmacy was busy and I just wanted to get out of there.

Probiotic question
I take phillips colon health daily as part of my UC treatment. I find it helps a ton, even when I was on antibiotics from a really bad flare. I've also had c-diff, it sucks, but its not the worst. More heavy duty antibiotics and it was gone in a few days.
