Promethean Boards???

There was a Promethean board installed in my classroom over the summer.

I am not returning to work in September, as I am due with any day. I'll be heading back to the classroom in December.

How user-friendly are these boards to use? I'm going to miss the training sessions and am starting to freak out that this is going to be a hassle to deal with when I go back....

Any feedback on these boards?

They are SO user-friendly. I love them! I had taught for 7 years without anything like that and was a little apprehensive, but now I don't know how I could teach without one.

I got one in my classroom last year and figured I'd just use it like I used a chalkboard, but by the 2nd or 3rd day I was playing around with images and a month later I could add sounds. I've even used videos and websites through the Flipcharts (that's what the pages are called).

Any questions, please feel free to ask. I've gotten pretty good at it.

They are SO much fun. BUT you do need some level of training in order to use them effectively.

Will your district be offering any inservice trainings throughout the year? When I had my board (I don't have it anymore...don't get me started!!!!!), I went to a few trainings throughout the course of the year.

They are SO awesome and your teaching will never be the same once you have had one. Trust me...I know.
