To Those Reporting Threads, To Those Moving Threads and to Those who asked for all these extra boards
To Those Reporting Threads why oh why do you care if someone's thread is on NFR??? We all know this board gets the most traffic, so we want more people to see it. Why does it bother you so?
To Those Moving Threads are these threads so terrible that they can't stay on NFR? What is the big deal? Almost every thread here could fit on some other board. Really- please think about it. And use RESTRAINT when moving boards. Thank you.
To Those who asked for all these extra boards- WHY? It is so frustrating when someone's post gets moved. We have so many boards already that many people don't check or forget about. Lets leave it as it is and take away most of the other NFR boards.
So my suggestion is lets leave Pets, Home Team, Celebrity Gossip and Fashion and morph the rest of the NFR boards to just plain NFR. What do you say

well I asked for the Travel board. I like to read it. I love Travel. Not sure why we have a lot of the other boards like charity.
I think if we have the board the threads should go there. Why post it here if there is a board dedicated to that. If it's more traffic that defeats the purpose of the other board.

what about your post about Liz being PG? Shouldnt that have been on the PG board?
What about your Kevin Covias sighting? Shouldnt that have been on Celebrity?
What about the pit bull that was burned threads on NFR? I saw you post on them?
My point is some things that are "vague" should stay where they are....
She was posting about being excited about a trip, not about advice or info on traveling to vegas....
It does get out of hand at times is all Im saying .....

You left the Home and Travel board off of your list. I am not a very active poster, but the boards I frequent most are Home, Travel and Pets. The topics on those boards are relevant and helpful, and I believe it would be a disadvantage to lump them with NFR.

I have to agree with Shelly on this one. I posted that I was excited to go to Dublin (and basically just that) and POOF, it was moved to Travel...annoying.
Now if I was asking hotel info and other things than I can see it....
I think it's overboard sometimes...everyone wants more boards and then no one uses them.
It's like people on Home wanting an OOS board in addition to the Home board...it's crazy...

Ron and Liz being pregnant Sure probably could have been posted there. But since Ron is the OWNER of this site I decided to post here (following something he posted about it on NFR) I don't read pregnany because it hurts to much Im sure you understand that!
My Kevin Covais sighting could have been posted on Celebrity SURE But I posted it here and If you moved it I wouldn't be crying about it.
And about the PIT BULL thread. I posted this YESTERDAY on the Pet board I was the first one to post the story on PETS. One of the threads has been moved to Pets already and im sure the other one is followiing soon

I've never reported a thread, never asked for something to be moved and I've never asked for a new board... but since they exist, they should be used appropriately.
I think the boards that are less successful should be removed after a (short) period of time. Not that the question was raised, just tossing in my 2 cents...

I forgot about home. I think that should be a separate board.
But why do we need a travel board? I never check it unless i am planning a trip. But I have travelled a lot and may have advice to give other people. Why can't travel stay on NFR?

Because I like travel. And I like to travel. I felt that all the travel questions got lost on NFR I think it's nice to have them all in one place.
Agreed. It's easier to search for travel related things there.
And if you look at the number of posts on travel, it's actually a more popular board.

To your question overall, I like things to be organized.
Which means that every now and then if something is blatently obvious that it should be elsewhere I will report it.
It's just easier to me to see all the posts in areas that they belong.
I love that I don't have to sift through a posts about school planning and snow days on NFR because we have the teacher board now.
I love that there isn't a whole first NFR page on Paris Hilton, because she's on the celebrity board.
Order and organization. I like it.

i suggested an OOS board the other day - since there are alot of peopel relocating, the posts end up on NFR and Home - where do they belong?
I like the travel, pets, etc. I think we could do away with other boards that arent used as much.
NFR gets used too much, if you consolidate all the boards, the topics would go to page 2 too quickly. I hardly ever go to page 2 to look for things to add to a thread.

This pretty much sums up how I feel about posting on the correct forums. We (collectively) requested them for various reasons so we should use them.
People that enjoy talking about pets, travel, books (as examples) go to those forums. If there's an urgent request for more opinions there's the xp feature to post a link in the NFR forum to your post on the correct forum.
Why is using the correct forum such an imposition?

It's not necessarily about using the correct forum, it's about where does the line get drawn?
It seems that today is a hot day for the tiniest thing getting moved and some topics, while having the slightest relevancy of another board, don't actually belong there.
For example, my post about my unborn child's initials being STD have NOTHING to do with Parenting, but it got moved there....why? Because people have too much time on thier hands.....

I think the converse is true -- people don't have time to read the thread and it's being moved because of the title. So a post title referring to the naming a child would go to parenting - if they didn't read the thread and see it's a joke.
As for the line, LIF needs to come in and clarify what that is since they are making the ultimate decision.
