Protein shake powder?
Can anyone reccommend their good tasting protein whey or mix powder? I would like to add a shake to my diet but know nothing about what tastes decent that I will enjoy enough to stick with.

Re: Protein shake powder?
Yes, it actually is. If you are a coach, you have access to the product training. If you read it, it is referred to as a protein shake.

Re: Protein shake powder?
Agreed.
Shakeology is not protein powder in my eyes either. The carbohydrate count is quite high and the protein is not as high in many other preferred brands.
I have read the product information through a friend is a coach. I also have a background in fitness nutrition. I would never suggest this as a go to protein shake for a client.

Protein shake powder?
I am a coach and all of the training states it is NOT a protein shake at at the levels of protein in it, you don't have to be a coach to realize it is not a protein shake.

Re: Protein shake powder?
This is the actual training guide for coaches. As you can see (sorry- this is the biggest I could make it and still have it postable), it is stated that Shakeology is a protein shake. ANYBODY can look up other protein products that may have more protein than Shakeology, but overall, Shakeology is far more nutritious and better for you and your workout regimen.

Re: Protein shake powder?
It's a meal replacement. It's nutrient dense. It has superfoods. It does not however have sufficient protein for somebody who is asking specifically for a protein shake.

Protein shake powder?
Just to be CLEAR - Shakeology is NOT a protein shake..
October 18, 2013 at 9:42am
Shakeology is NOT a protein shake. Nor is it a weight loss shake. It is a %100 natural (macro and micro) nutrient dense meal replacement. It is not a one-dimensional protein shake.
Because Shakeology IS %100 natural (created by a vegan with a masters in nutrition and agricultural anthropology) the standard to remain natural does not allow for ANY artificial flavors, colors, stimulants, sweeteners or chemically modified micronutrients. Nearly every single product found in gyms, GNC, internet, you name it, have a LARGE amount of manmade chemicals dumped in it so that it tastes appealing to the general publics "idea" of what food SHOULD taste like.

Re: Protein shake powder?
lilqtny----thank you for being honest. I have to say it is refreshing to see a beachbody coach that tells the truth rather than just pushes their product to make a sale. I get further disgusted by that company every single day.

That's a shame, Ldrinkh20. We've helped so many people reach their fitness and health goals. The facts are the facts. I've shown you actual proof.
I'm sorry you feel I'm trying to push products.
My whole reason for responding to the OP's question was to use factual information rather than an opinion to inform her of a viable option.
Have a wonderful day!

Protein shake powder?
LDrink, thank you I do believe the products and workouts are great for some people. But as a personal trainer who has more knowledge then the average coach I also believe in helping people reach their goals with the products that are best for them.

Agreed! I like the workouts very much but disagree a lot with the nutrition. I really feel like it's best to go to someone who is experienced in nutrition---not someone that just signed up. I really appreciate your honesty and putting clients first!

While I don't doubt you've helped people, I don't feel comfortable taking nutrition advice from someone who hasn't studied it or is willing to tell me 1200 cals or less and a cleanse is necessary. I don't need to "eat clean" or eliminate entire groups of food to be fit and I resent that being told to innocent people looking for help so beachbody can make a profit.

I really don't want to spend anymore of my time on this, but I had to respond because you are now putting words in my mouth. Please don't do that.
I never said any of what you just accused me of saying.
You have a difference in opinion and that's fine. There are other ways of thinking about things besides the way you think. Let's just let it rest now, ok? Thanks.

Wasn't saying YOU said it. That seems to be the general philosophy on many programs and from coaches. I know there are many views and I am open to all that won't cause long term metabolic damage and heakth problems. My point is I don't like seeing innocent oeople being taught extreme and unhealthy things by some of the coaches and programs. I've seen you promoting some of those cleanses here etc so forgive me for assuming you agree with those philosophies.

Re: Protein shake powder?
This will be my last post on this matter.
I do stand by the products I promote, as do the THOUSANDS of people they have worked for. Do you realize that physicians and nutritional experts are also promoting the products?
There is not one set solution or way of thinking that works for everyone. If people ask for an opinion OR FACTUAL information on a Beachbody product, you can be sure I will be there to assist them.
