Proud of Myself
I have nowhere else to brag... so I just wanted to say I am proud of myself for not giving up. I just completed two months of exercise/diet lifestyle change and I didn't give up once! And now the results are finally showing.
I can do 1 mile in 12:40!!! (which is still slow, but when I started 2 months ago I could only do it in 16:00 and not feel as great about it)
Also, I lost 8 pounds and now I only have to lose 18 more to get to my ultimate perfect back to when I was 18 years old and in the best shape of my life weight!!
18 pounds seems so daunting but I am just trying to take it one pound at a time.
All of this work and effort though is making me scared to have a baby... scared of how my body will change and the amount of work it will take to make me look even halfway back to normal...
that is the only part that stinks. I keep telling myself, the better shape I am in before the baby, the better shape I'll be in after the baby, right??

Re: Proud of Myself
First of all congratulations on all you have done these months! You have made some major changes and you are reaping the rewards!!
You are absolutely right about going into a pregnancy at your healthiest. With my first pregnancy, I was fit, eating so healthy and got pregnant. That pregnancy I gained 23 lbs and lost them sooo quickly afterward. My second pregnancy 2 years later I was not eating as well or taking the time for myself. I gained about 45 lbs and here I am 2 years later struggling with that weight still. I am about 20 lbs off but I have to fight with every pound to get it to leave. So if you start off on the healthy path it WILL be easier after. Don't fear pregnancy---it's a beautiful, natural state. Embrace it and know that you need to be just as healthy during pregnancy as you do before and after. You will do great!!!

Re: Proud of Myself
Congrats!! I run about a 12:40 mile too!
I think we are in the same boat. I have 9 lbs to lose to get back to my normal self, and then 20 on top of that to get to my goal weight, 120 for my 5'2" frame.
Thanks for sharing your story. It is very encouraging to hear that even though the weight loss was slow or non-existent at first, now you've lost a good amount of weight.

Re: Proud of Myself
That's awesome!!!
You never know how your body will react to a pregnancy - or after - but the healthier a lifestyle you have, the quicker your body will bounce back after baby!

Re: Proud of Myself
Congrats!! You can do it!!! Stick with it, your mileage/running will get even faster. Remember to do intervals...they burn even more calories (run really really fast for as long as you can...even if its only 10 seconds...then run slow until you recover and do it again and again and again)
You DO NOT have to give up your body for a baby. If you have no health issues during a pregnancy there is no reason you would gain an excessive amount of weight. Dont let it scare you! SOOOO many people end up at their pre-pregnancy weight almost immediately after having the baby. Just don't let yourself go when your preggo, thats all. Eat as you would if you weren't pregnant. So many people think they can or need to eat more and its just not the case.
