Providing food to parents at a kids party?

I just had a kid's party for my 7 yo ds on Saturday at dinnertime. I ordered enough pizza for all the kids and parents. Maybe half the parents ate, and I had like 2.5 pies left over.
So I would order enough pizza for all the adults, but don't be surprised if it doesn't all get eaten! <shrug>

I also say yes, but if a lot of them are going to your house after I would just do some bagels with cream cheese and maybe some veggie/meat options if they want to make a sandwich. I would offer something light. You don't need to do pizza. Even snacks like veggies and dip, fruit, or a meat tray would be fine.

Re: Providing food to parents at a kids party?

I just have to say that I'm surprised that most people feel like they're obligated to feed parents for a party that is just 1.5 hours. As a parent, I wouldn't expect a meal for myself at a child's birthday party. I just feel like the children are the guests, not the parents. Should the parents get goody bags too? Lol

Now this is not to say that I wouldn't ever provide food for parents at my kid's party, I just wouldn't expect it if my child was a guest at a party.

I agree. I never go to a party where my child was the invited attendee and expect them to feed me. If they offer, great.

Funny, I never got invited to a party and not been given food. I didn't even think that it was a question on whether or not you fed the parents.

Yes. Get some pizzas (or even bagels). Most will just have one slice since they will be worrying about feeding their kids, etc. I think its the norm so ppl expect it. I've heard when you don't have food they don't realize and they eat the pizza meant for the kids anyway.
