PSA: From A school counselor who is worried about people during the holidays!
I am putting this out there because it may make me feel better knowing we are all looking out for each other.
Just remember during this holiday seaon that not everyone is feeling so merry and for some, it brings up many difficult emotions. I know we are all busy running here and there to find the perfect gift, or create a great holiday meal. If you could just take a second to listen to a friend, a teenager, your child and really hear what they have to say, you may save a life.
I know this is a sad and depressing post but I am hoping we all just stop for a second and be there for each other.
Thanks for letting me get that out. I feel a bit better now.

Thank you...my mom is a high school counselor and sadly has stories like this much too often. I will say a prayer for your student.

Thanks for reading. I am just feeling so guilty and worried about my students today that I needed to make others aware too. It is making me feel better.

I posted on the other thread as well and I don't want to come off as I am scoulding you, however, this post has been really bothering me.
You were very detailed in what happened to this young woman and you do have a lot of personal info about yourself on here.
I think you (and well anyone who works in the helping professions) needs to be very careful about what is shared online about the people they work with in a professional capacity.
Not trying to create drama but just reminding everyone to be mindful of what personal info they share online for the world to see.
