PSA-Lead found in Leap Frog Musical Table
My son has this toy and LOVES it. Here is the article that mentions it. So crazy. I know SOOOO many children with this toy!!!

I saw this, and they also had the FP laugh and learn puppy on it!!! This makes me sooooo angry!!!!! DD has the table as well and loves it!!!

There is lead in everything. The consumer product safety commission has acceptable levels. If they say it is OK, I think it is

I haven't...I honestly don't know what to do....it was done by NYPIRG, I'm wondering how they're going to react to this ONE test and cop out by saying our numerous tests etc...
She hasn't been playing with it too much lately bc we just got her a bunch of new toys I may just take i out of her play area for now until I speak to them...

Im not buying it, you cannot call a toy dangerous, if in fact they DO pass the safety standard tests. None of the items listed the "Low levels" of lead that were detected, there is a permissible amount allowed in testing. Its doesnt state anywhere the permissible levels of lead verus what they found. The "key to toxic chemicals" lists no studies or sources to back up claims.

My SIL called them and they had no idea about this. They told her they would get back to her within 24 hours with an answer. I have not taken it away from him. He doesn't really put his mouth to it.

I have to agree with this, you would think after years of this table being out, bc this is not the first year it's out on store shelves for the holidays a red flag would have come up before...
she doesn't put her mouth to her table either I can see some of the other toys but these two toys have been on the market forever and now all of the sudden..just seems strange to me

Hey...
I have that table!  AJ loves it. Its at my Aunts house.
I never even heard of this story. I can't keep up with every single toy she owns. I dont let her chew on anything other than a paci and food. Dont they have to ingest lead to be dangerous?
I must say that Unless they are replacing this table or giving a full refund I will NOT be taking it away from her. I just can't see the need yet. It doesnt seem to be posing a danger to her from what I've read.
Then again my head hurts reading this stuff so maybe I missed something?

i can't belive that there has not been if there is lead in it.
there are permissible amounts of lead allowed in toys.....this study, if read, does not say that they violated any safety guidelines/laws, just that they detected low levels of lead.

here's a thought....
can you imagine what was in OUR toys as kids?
We had METAL tonka trucks and cars that had SHARP edges!!
We had toys that were DESIGNED to make you sick (the sit & spin and how FAST it used to go)...
We rode our 'big wheels' in the middle of the street!!!
I'm rather positive that most of our toys had lead and all kinds of other things - they simply didn't test for it.
I 100% believe in testing and all that stuff...but there has to be a line.... There will come a point in time - i'm rather sure - that BREATHING AIR will not be healthy...
