pull ups and potty training
So yesterday Sara ran around naked all day but used the potty all day too . She used it until we put a diaper on her at night for the babysitter then she peed in her diaper. Today she is dry in panties but poopie was in a daper this morning . I would say Sara is about 65% trained, I do not want to put diapers on her anymore except at night. DOes anyone here use pull - ups? I was told DO NOT Use them just go cold turkey with underware. What do you think.

Re: pull ups and potty training
I used pull ups and DS wsa okay with them for a bit, but them he started going to the bathroom in them (not using the potty). I put him in underwear a few weeks ago and now he uses the potty 99% of the time (very few accidents). He still does wear a pull up to bed (b/c i have yet to gt a matress cover) but wakes up dry in the AM. I would say pull ups maybe slowed down the potty training process a little bit for us

Re: pull ups and potty training
I use pull-ups for daycare and going out.
BuyBuyBaby has cotton training pants and plastic covers -- I use these alot (either with or without the covers). I think they are better than pull-ups because they don't feel like a diaper, but they help contain messes.

Re: pull ups and potty training
We finally were successful when she started using Panties (no pull ups) - i started to become consistent with her and use panties whenever we were home, run short errands, and were over family and friends house.....it worked!! You will have accidents but with time you will see fewer and fewer accidents.
She didn't like the feeling of having warm pee run down her leg and me having to clean her and wipe her all the time after her mess - and this made her finally realize that technique to using the potty.
I also noticed that she would get lazy with the pull up and would wet herself - thats why i refused to use them.
