Pulling themselves up to sitting position?

When did your DC do this? I mean from laying flat on their backs to pulling themselves up to sitting, w/o help from anyone?

Also, how do babies generally do this? Pulling their trunk all the way up with just their 'ab muscles', or do they lean to the side and do it that way?

I'm clueless Chat Icon

DD is 7 months and can sit up unassited for hours w/o falling, but has yet to PULL herself up to a sitting position, although it seems like she tries sometimes.

Noah has doen this only a few times, usually in his crib where he can kinda hold the bumper and if hes laying on a blanket or has a boppy underneath him, he can definatly do it...but not too often and he will be 8 months next week.

Kaitee started doing this a few days after she started to crawl. She would be in the crawiling position and then sit. She was a few days shy of 6 1/2 months when she could do this.

Hailey hasn't pulled herself up into a sitting position yet but I've seen her trying-it looks like she is trying to do a sit up. She will be 6 months next week.

Yes, this is exactly what DD does sometimes, actually about a month ago when she was 6 months it looked like she tried all the time, but not as much anymore.

Re: Pulling themselves up to sitting position?

Right around the 8 month mark he figured out that if he turned to his belly he could back himself up with his hands to a sitting position.

Now that's ALL he wants to do!!
