Pumpkin Pie Filling?
Can you get it store bought? I was in Stop n Shop yesterday and didn't see it though I saw EVERY other kind of filling you could imagine. I want to make pie pops for our bake-off at work and I feel like I should do pumpkin since it's a Halloween/Fall themed party, but I don't want to go through the trouble of making it myself. Also, what other flavors should I do? I wanted to do at least two. I was thinking raspberry or apple. Any preferences?

Re: Pumpkin Pie Filling?
you can cheat and buy the canned pumpkin and a small container of "pumpkin pie spice" and it is very fast to make.

Re: Pumpkin Pie Filling?
yup you can buy it. It is very hard to find right now. I went to 4 stores before finding it. Eventually I found it at Stop and Shop in Hicksville. I think its just not out for the season yet. Some pople said there is a pumpkin shortage so that might have something to do with it too.

Re: Pumpkin Pie Filling?
Yes, you can get it in the store. I just saw it in Waldbaums last night. It's made by Libby and was right next to the canned pumpkin (very bottom shelf). They only had the big cans though.
Also, not sure if you have one near you or not, but Christmas Tree Shop had tons of jarred pie filling in at least 5 different flavors. I know they had apple and peach because those are the ones I bought.

Re: Pumpkin Pie Filling?
Thanks everyone! I looked in a local supermarket by me and nothing yesterday either. I have time though so I'm just going to keep looking. I have heard about the pumpkin shortage, too. Hmmm, I'm not close to a Christmas Tree Shop but I don't really need much of a reason to take a trip out there, I love that store! lol! Thanks everyone!

Re: Pumpkin Pie Filling?
You can get the filling in the store as well as just the canned pureed pumpkin. There is a nationwide shortage right now (no, im not kidding...I inquired at stop and shop since I've been looking for it for months!) It's the only that helps my puppies stomachs when they get sick! lol
ETA: I got some at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's!

Re: Pumpkin Pie Filling?
I'd do apple in addition to Pumpkin. Nothing says fall like apples and pumpkins.

Re: Pumpkin Pie Filling?
The new Oceanside stop and shop had it , it was on the bottom shelf by the pudding in the baking isle ( i think). There weren't too many left, I was wondering if there was a run on it since the skinny taste recipe became popular.

Re: Pumpkin Pie Filling?
I haven't seen it at my Stop & Shop yet, but I bought it at Target a few times recently.

Re: Pumpkin Pie Filling?
Last weekend I got some at Target.
They had both the pumpkin pie mix and regular pumpkin.
I wanted the regular pumpkin for my pumpkin soup.
They didn't have a ton of it though.
I am guessing it's probably a seasonal kind of thing and maybe the first week of October we'll have better luck?
