Puppy teething help
My puppy lost 6!!!! baby teeth in the past week. HE's teething like crazy and chewing on everything.
I;ve been giving him ice cubes to eat, which he seems to like.
Anything else I can do to help him? My hand is starting to hurt from all the attempts to chew on it

Re: Puppy teething help
just buy rawhides, chew toys, anything soft, they have toys that are made to go in the freezer before using, etc. at petsmart -- we just bought a ton and let her choose and she chewed her way through ALL of them!

Re: Puppy teething help
Chew toys, chew toys, chew toys.
We bought Daisy tons of nylabones - she'd go through them in a week (we should have invested stock in this co). Everything is digestible and safe for the dog, it's made in the USA. They come in various sizes and flavors and colors.
We've bought the nylknot from Drs Foster Smith catalog, the stores sell the nylabone and the princess bone, and it teaches the dog what is acceptable to chew on and what is not (ie. your hand).
I stay away from rawhide as it can hurt the dog's inside's from it's sharp points after chewing. It's dangerous for my little dog to have it, so we never introduced her to them.

Re: Puppy teething help
Please do not give your puppy raw hides. I thought they were great until I watched my puppy eat one. They get really soft and yes they do love them but then they harden and get very sharp. Thats what happens in side them too. They are also a very dangerous your pup can choke on the little pieces.
