Purpose of receiving blankets?
Exactly what is the purpose?

they are baby blankets that were originally intended for swaddling, but serve several uses.

A lot of times parents use them to lay the baby on when changing or on the couch, bed etc , during feedings,....really anything.

I've seen people use them to swaddle, as burp cloths, and as general 'germ barriers' (ie: you want to lay the baby on the floor, couich, table etc. -
Or, in the summer, I've seen people use them as blankets when you don't need a heavy one -

thanks all, I was wondering the same thing. This is my first lil and I never babysat babies when I was younger, just kids.

I use them to swaddle DS. I also just use it as an extra layer and to wrap him up.

you don't need many...the waffle ones are the best for swaddling but you can use them instead of a bundle me lite, on the floor at Gymboree or a baby class, keep baby warm in the stroller when it is not too cold out, playtime on the floor, keeping baby warm at the doctor's when they need to be nude!
