Purse lovers! A question
Do you use dust bags on your purses that came with one?
It could be said that I have a purse problem I find that I don't use all of them because I sort of forget about them. They all look the same when they are in their dust bag. When I get more space I want to organize them better. But I am wondering if I should not use the dust bags so I actually SEE the bag and remember to use it.
What do you do to ensure you actually rotate your bags. I try and do a pretty good job, but there are still some that get neglected even though I love them.

Re: Purse lovers! A question
If it came with a dust bag, I keep the bag in there when not in use. I've even purchased dust bags/sleepers for bags/clutches that didn't come with them.

Re: Purse lovers! A question
I have made dust bags for bags I've gotten that didn't come with them. It's really easy, like sewing a pillowcase except you add a drawstring to the opening.

Re: Purse lovers! A question
If my bag comes with a dust bag, I store my bag in it. I have a huge tote thingy I keepy them in so they are double protected. I border on obsession with my bags lol

Should I use them? Yes Do I use them? No
Honestly, the picture idea is a good one (although DH is already on my case for my bags, I think photo labeled bags would add fuel to the fire!).
I can't keep track of all the bags I own, and when I do a bag switch it tends to be based on whatever sparks my fancy as I scan my closet shelves.

Re: Purse lovers! A question
When it's not their turn in the rotation, they stay in their dust bag. If I'm currently using the bag, I won't put it in the dust bag, but I make sure the bag NEVER hits the floor.

Re: Purse lovers! A question
Yes, for the bags not in my current rotation. However, the 4-5 I've been using regularly are not in their dustbags... but they probably should be!

Re: Purse lovers! A question
First, I go a little over the top. Be warned.
All of my bags came with cloth dust bags and a nice gift box. I have Coach, Michael Kors, and Gucci. In total, about 15-17 bags, I think. I have not counted in a while. Anywho, When a bag is not 'in use' it 'sleeps' inside it's dust bag which is kept inside it's box that it came in from the store. I keep them all stored in the guest bedroom, stacked up, until we close on our new house and then I have the perfect spot for them!! (there is a hall closet that they can be stacked in)...
On top of that, when I get the bag I make a tissue paper 'form' of the inside of the bag. Meaning, I stuff tissue paper into it until it holds it's form and then I take the tissue paper out and wrap the form in one large sheet of tissue paper (so it will stay) and then I tape it to make sure it holds still. Each bag gets one and then when each bag is not in use before putting it in the dust bag and box I will stuff it's 'form' inside so it will hold it's shape. The boxes are labeled (I have a label maker) with the type of bag. IE: Coach Limited Edition Red, Coach Signature Black Hobo, Kors Hamilton in Luggage Tan.
The bags get cleaned and moisturized with special products before going back into the bag and boxes when I'm done using them at that time. Conditioning is very important. Cleaning I don't do as much of because I'm downright anal about them getting dirty in the first place.
My bags NEVER touch the floor. I used to allow it on carpet at someone's home or my home - I was only particular about dirty surfaces but then Melissa told me that it was bad luck to have a bag on ANY floor. Now, I have a bag clip in my purse so that when I go someplace I can clip it onto a table and let the bag "hang" there while I eat or do whatever when I'm out.
I know this is a bit much but I love my bags and they are expensive so I want them to last forever. All of the styles I buy are pretty classic so it is important for me to have them for years and years. Twice at Coach the people working there have told me that the bags I have look brand new -- and most of them are at least six or seven years old. One in particular, the first Coach I ever bought, looks like the day I bought it - the lady at the store was in total shock at it's condition.
I love bags!

All of the dust bags that I have are different colors and logos on them so I an tell the difference pretty easily.

Re: Purse lovers! A question
All my bags are stuffed and in their dust bags, lined up on the top shelf of my closet. I've got LV, and use them seasonally so they are rotated- damier ebene in fall, epi in winter, mono or damier azur in spring/summer.
