Put my cat down
I've posted about my elderly cat here a bunch of times but I think this is it.
A few weeks ago we took her to the vet since it seems no matter how much she ate, she's was getting thinner and thinner. This former 17 pounder was down to 5 pounds. She just stopped absorbing her food and the vet said by feeling around her intestines it was either cancer or Feline Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
We tried a special diet of Lamb and Rabbit and remained optimistic but today she weighed in at 4 pounds and now is having problems walking. The vet never called back tonight but we made our decision and we're devastated but you can't keep being selfish.
My husband has had her since HS and we've been together for 10 years so I feel extremely close to her and grateful to know what it's like to be loved by an animal as much as I was. I had 2 pets of my own growing up and neither was as affectionate and sweet as Raindrop.

on edit: She was in bad shape by the time we could get her in this morning but the office acted so wonderfully when we got there and we got to be there when she left this world. I highly recommend My Pet's Vet in Huntington and more specifically Dr. Leah Wulforst for taking good care of her and us.

I am so sorry. I recently had to put down one of our cats after his battle with diabetes. It was my DHs cat and it broke our hearts. As sad as it is, just know that your cat will not be suffering any longer.

I am so sorry. My sister had to put my cat down while I was in Alaska on vacation. It was so sad. He was a big 17 pounds and went down to 8 pounds and had liver cancer. I am so sorry. It is heart breaking to go thru. A good website is www.rainbowbridge.com

I am so sorry to hear about Raindrop, but I am glad that you got to be there.
