If its about pets then why shouldn't it be on pets
If its about Celebrities why shouldn't it be on celbrity gossip
Why have all the other forums then
The celebrity board and the pet board seem to have a good bit of traffic. The others do not. If someone has a question or needs some advice, I don't see the problem with posting it on a board that has the most traffic.

Well I think posting things on the home board, travel board, pregnancy board is a GOOD thing. I don't think having all these questions asked on nfr makes it easier. I think its extra clutter. IMO

at the time when my post got moved, there were 2 other travel related posts on NFR and they stayed, so I guess my Q was... why do only *some* get moved?

at the time when my post got moved, there were 2 other travel related posts on NFR and they stayed, so I guess my Q was... why do only *some* get moved?
because the site admin is only vigilantly tracking at certain times
you can't expect them to catch everything
if you feel slighted, report the other posts

You're right - certain boards get more traffic. But what about the travel board or the career board. Is it really a big deal, when someone has a question that needs a quick answer, to post it on the NFR board? I understand your problem with "clutter", but I don't understand why it's such a big deal when people would like their posts read. Do you know what I mean?

It's very simple - if you want to post where there is more traffic but the topic belongs on another board - cross post. Start a thread on NFR with a link to your post on the other board. That will bring traffic to the other boards.

It's just that it perpetuates the whole "no one reads this board" idea if you post on NFR to get more people to read.
If everyone posted all travel and career related questions on those boards, they WOULD get read more often.
A simple solution is to Cross Post when you need a fast answer, with a link to the proper board until people go to them more naturally.
But keep in mind too, they AREN'T going to be read as much because by nature those topics aren't as frequently discussed as NFR, Celebs, Pregnancy, etc.
For example, I usually ONLY pop into those boards when I see there is a new topic posted.
And as far as why some posts are moved and some aren't, I think Don's right. It's time posted and I think sometimes the subject line will indicate a move.
But it's one of the great mysteries of LIF.
