Q for C-section Moms - Waiting period to conceive after c-section?
For c-section mom's, has anyone ever been told they should wait 2 years after the first c-section to start TTC again?

I was told one year by my gyno yesterday at my post-op.... :) Two years seems like an awful lot...

Mine either but it would make sense to wait because I'm assuming that the surgical cutting inside has to take time to heal. I heard they only reccomend you having three c-sections in your lifetime too max.

my cousin waited 3 months after her c-section to get PG. She did and her babies are 51 weeks apart. The doctor now told her to wait 6 months before trying again.

With my first pregnancy, I had a classical c/s (up & down vs. across incision)
My OB had recommended 6 months before TTC again but we were given the okay to start after 3 months

My sister has 3 girls all by c-sec and all with in a yr of each other. They are 7,8,9 now. She's very brave

I was told 1 year. My friend got p/g on accident when her DD was 6-8 weeks old after a c-section. The Dr was worried about the scar on the uterus opening up, but everything turned out fine. The kids are less than a year apart.

Mine never said anything. Honestly, I thought that the waiting was just a guideline if you wanted to try for a VBAC.
Same here on both counts. I got pregnant again 11 mos. later and my doctor was supportive of VBAC even though it didn't happen that way.

My obgyn never said anything - but he did ask how long we were thinking of waiting and I responded at least a year and he said that was a good amount of time.

I was told at least 15-18 months between births (not getting PG). I had my DD by VBAC exactly 2 years (almost to the day) after my son (got pregnant when he was 15 months).
