Q For Real Estate Professionals - Where to get prop info in Suffolk
In Nassau, there's My Nassau Properties...(http://www.nassaucountyny.gov/mynassauproperty/main.jsp). Is there an equivalent or similar in Suffolk where you can get info on recent sales, similar properties, etc?

You can try calling assessor office for the town you are interested in. They may be able to give you some basic facts about homes.

Re: Q For Real Estate Professionals - Where to get prop info in Suffolk
Not to my knowledge.
I work more in Nassau, but I sell homes in Suffolk, too. And when it comes to verifying taxes, accessing the property cards, etc., we have to call the town the house is located within (or go to the town hall) to get the type of public info that is available online in Nassau.
Long Island real estate agents who are members of the MLS have access to public records for Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk, but the information included on Suffolk properties is so bare bones compared to Nassau... it just basically tells you the property type (e.g, single family residence), the owner's name, the lot size. Not much property info at all.
(But fyi - I don't use, and wouldn't advise anyone, to use the mynassauproperty site to find comps for the purpose of determining current market value/finding comps for a property. It wouldn't be accurate for that purpose).

Since properties in Suffolk are assessed by the individual towns, there is no central place to obtain this information. Most of it can be obtained on the towns' individual websites. Babylon and Huntington both have great websites. The others are getting better. You can always call the assessment department of the individual towns. Some may require you to go in person.
