Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress

No, I mean - would you put your MOH or BM in a tight, sexy, all white gown
Tight & sexy - sure, if she could pull it off and felt comfortable in it.
All white - absolutely not.
I was thinking maybe the wearing white was a British thing?? Because it's so frowned upon here for any woman except the bride to wear white, I just can't imagine doing that.

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
I would have had no problem with my MOH dressing sexier, ( as long as still chruch apporpriate) but that isn't her style, and she wanted to match the other BM, who was only 16--and that is the only place where I would be hestitant about a dress being too sexy.
I kind of like the idea of white BMs dresses, b/c I like less contrast in colors, generally (I had pale flowers).
I wanted to go got for a champagney color for my BMS to keep it light, but it didn't look good on them, so we went with cranberry! So much for less contrast!

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
I wouldn't care if my MOH wore that dress. I would pick a different color thought. Pippa only wore white because it seems to be a tradition for the royal weddings.

I probably would.. I'm very untraditional though. In fact, my bridesmaids picked out their own dresses - I didn't even see them beforehand! I left them to their own devices. I'm a strange bird, though....can't go by me!
I did the same thing. I just asked them to wear something long and black. I didnt know what most of them were wearing until the morning of the wedding - and they all looked gorgeous!
I thought Pippa looked great - but I thought the bride was stunning!

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
I guess I'm one of the only ones I just really feel that the bride should be the only one in something that looks like a wedding gown! IMO, they will have their turns and this is mine That said, my girls didn't wear potato sacks - they wore gorgeous flattering dresses that they all picked together but, they were bridesmaid dresses - not dresses that looked like they could be on the bride!

Re: Q for you about the royal wedding and pippa's dress
I don't get why some people are so up in arms about Pippa's dress. There was no mistaken her for the bride and it's not like Kate didn't know what Pippa's dress looked like. It was a gorgeous dress and she wore it well. And apparently, it's an old tradition that the maid of honor wear white, not that everyone does that there of course.
If my bridesmaids looked sexy in their gowns, then so be it. (I let them chose the style they felt most comfortable wearing.) I wouldn't want to hag them down so they don't upstage me.

the style of the dress is great, but i would not have wanted any of my bm's or moh to wear a white dress.
