q- keep getting credit card bills for old owner
We've been in our house for over 2 years now, and recently within the past week, we have been getting credit cards and credit card statements for one of the old owners of our house. Last week we got an actual Target credit card in her name, which means she must have just opened it up recently, and used our address. Today I got a credit card statement in her name to our address from Sears. I called up both places, and each place told me to shred the credit card & statement. I am just wondering if I should be concerned at all, like I know credit goes by name but can anything be affected by her opening up these accounts and using my address?

The only thing I could think of is that if the old owner ever goes behind on the cards, your phone will be ringing off the hook.. which will be annoying. I don't think there is anyway the actually cards will affect your name.

I wouldn't even open them. Take a red pen and write "return to sender, not at this address" on everything. Hopefully, eventually they'll stop

We are having the same issue. Been here 4+ y ears and in the last 2 months 2 magazine subscriptions have started and a new credit card came. How their information is not update is beyond me!

The mail forwarding order has probably expired. I don't think that the old owner is necessarily up to anything.

I write " moved" or in our case the woman is deceased so I write that on the envelope.
Isn't it illegal to open someone else's mail? Why would you open a credit Card statement that isn't yours?

Not sure why you even open them but I would just write "RTS" on them and leave them in your mailbox.
Mailman will take them back.

i don't know why i opened it, i was just concerned that it wasnt junk mail and actually legit so i should let the CC company know.. i guess from now on i will write return to sender on it, i was just concerned that she was opening up what seems like new accounts w/ our address.
